Russian air defense repelled two waves of Ukrainian drone attacks over the night of November 15 and 16, scoring more than 30 interceptions.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced just before midnight that four drones were shot down over the Bryansk region.

Early in the morning of the next day, the ministry said that an additional 34 drones were intercepted over five different regions.

“Over the past night, attempts by the Kiev regime to carry out terrorist attacks with fixed-wing UAVs [unmanned aerial vehicles] against facilities on Russian territory were foiled. Alert air defense forces destroyed 34 Ukrainian UAVs: 20 over the Kursk Region, 11 over the Bryansk Region, one UAV over the Republic of Crimea, one UAV over the Belgorod Region and one UAV over the Kaluga Region,” the ministry said in a statement.

No casualties or material losses were reported in any of the targeted regions, thus the Ukrainian attacks were a complete failure.

The Kiev regime stepped up drone attacks on Russian territories with the start of the year, killing or wounding dozens of civilians.

Last week, a large-scale Ukrainian drone attack targeted the Russian capital, Moscow. The attack was however repelled by Russian air defenses, which downed more than a hundred drones over Moscow and several other regions. Still, a few civilians were wounded by shrapnel.

It’s worth noting that the Russian military has been responding to such attacks by launching group strikes against high-value targets in Ukraine.
