Air defense systems deplyoed at Russia’s Hmeymim airbase in Syria have intercepted 6 maneuvering UAVs launched by militants, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a report on August 11.
“Anti-aircraft weapons of the Russian airbase destroyed all six terrorists’ combat UAVs at safe distances,” the defense ministry said.
No damage or casualties were caused by the attack, the ministry specified.
The UAV attack on the Russian airbase in Syria came amid the Syrian Army advance on positions of radical militants in southern Idlib and northwestern Hama.
