Russian Aerospace Forces Join Syrian Air Force in Air Strikes on Militants in Southern Aleppo

The Russian Aerospace Forces have joined the Syrian Air Force in bombing of Jaish al-Fatah militants, advancing in the southern Aleppo countryside, according to pro-government sources.

Jaish al-Fatah is a coalition of various militant groups, including Ahrar al-Sham, Jabhat al-Nusra and others, that opposes the Syrian government forces in Aleppo.

Russian warplanes have reportedly delivered air strikes on advancing militant units in western Aleppo and near the Khan Tuman town in southwestern Aleppo countryside.

On October 28, the joint militant forces launched a wide-scale offensive in order to lift the siege from the militant-controlled eastern part of Aleppo that had been imposed by the Syrian army and its allies.
