On the night of September 1, the Russian Armed Forces conducted a massive combined strike on targets in six regions of Ukraine. According to Ukraine’s Air Force, the attack involved Iskander-M/KN-23/S-400 ballistic missiles, Tsirkon anti-ship missiles, Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles, Kh-31P anti-radiation missiles, S8000 “Banderol” missiles, as well as 218 strike unmanned aerial vehicles.
Eight Kalibr cruise missiles were launched from a Russian Navy vessel in Novorossiysk during last night’s attack on Kyiv
The main directions of the strike were Kyiv and Odesa regions.
In Kyiv and Kyiv Region, the following facilities were struck:

Fire Point LLC — a facility producing components and warheads for FP-5 “Flamingo” long-range cruise missiles, as well as solid-fuel rocket boosters.

Aerobavovna LLC — a plant manufacturing aerostats for the delivery and control of medium- and long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, including Hornet-type drones.

Darnytsia locomotive depot — a key maintenance facility for the locomotive fleet used for military cargo delivery. According to reports, at the time of the ballistic missile strike on the depot, two trains with military equipment were being loaded. The depot was completely destroyed.

An assembly, retrofitting and storage workshop for unmanned surface vessels in the settlement of Khotiv.

An oil depot in Boryspil supplying fuel and lubricants to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
- NASA satellites recorded fires at the West Gate Logistic complex in Stoyanka.
In Odesa and Odesa Region, the targets included:

A thermal power plant and three electrical substations that supported the functioning of port infrastructure.

An unmanned aerial vehicle assembly workshop.

In the port of Odesa — 16 storage facilities with weapons and military equipment, as well as six fuel and lubricant storage tanks supplied to the Ukrainian Armed Forces by Western countries.

In the port of Chornomorsk — two warehouses with military equipment and supplies intended for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Additionally, strikes were carried out against a border checkpoint and a ferry crossing in Orlivka.
Later that day, strike drones also targeted a logistics center in Usatove (Odesa Region), used for storing military cargo, and a cargo ship with military equipment in the port of Yuzhny.

In the port of Yuzhny, a cargo ship with military equipment for the Ukrainian Armed Forces was struck.
Strikes on Russia
According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, 516 Ukrainian UAVs were intercepted overnight over 19 Russian regions and the Black Sea area.
The most significant strike hit the port zone of Ust-Luga in Leningrad Region. Regional Governor Alexander Drozdenko confirmed damage to the port zone and a fire. A total of 52 drones were intercepted over Leningrad Region.
In Samara Region, two people were injured in a UAV attack. In Novokuybyshevsk, several residential buildings were damaged, and a state of emergency was declared. Attacks on Tolyatti were also reported.
Amid the ongoing strikes, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the start of a campaign to block Russian airspace, threatening that the number of drones would become so large that civilian aviation flights would become completely unsafe.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on these statements, called them “a move toward state terrorism.” “Look, I have not heard such statements, but if it was said out loud, then it is simply a move toward state terrorism,” Putin said. “And I draw attention to the fact that they are asking us to resume negotiations, they are asking for personal meetings — we do not negotiate with terrorists. That is the first thing. And the second — if such tragedies were to occur, we will find a way to respond. Let there be no doubt.”
Putin also said that Russia would not object if anyone could contribute something positive to the negotiation process on Ukraine.
