Moscow is Ready to Consider the Damascus’ Request for Direct Military Aid

The Russian leadership is ready to consider Bashar Assad’s request for military assistance, if he asks, said President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov. His comments came in response to the words of Walid Muallem, Foreign Minister of Syria about the possibility of such an option.

“If we receive an official request in the framework of bilateral contacts, the request will be discussed and considered in the framework of bilateral contacts,” – quoted Peskov’s words “Interfax” agency.

Earlier, Moscow declared that it does not intend to deviate from the line pursued in support of the legitimate government of Syria, and it will continue to supply Russian weapons to Damascus.

The western media already have information that the Syrian military began to use the latest models of Russian weapons, and that they are very pleased with them. At the same time , the Kremlin has denied any rumors that the Russian troops are already fighting in Syria on the Bashar al-Assad’s side.
