Russia And Ukraine Exchanged Strikes In Rear Regions

On January 20th, the warring sides abstained from massive strikes deep in each other’s rear areas but pinpoint strikes continued. 

According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, in total, 31 Ukrainian UAVs were destroyed in the rear regions at night. They included:

  • 14 drones intercepted in the Bryansk region;
  • 6 UAVs in the Kaluga region;
  • 3 UAVs in the Belgorod region;
  • 3 UAVs in the Kursk region;
  • 2 UAVs in the Ryazan region;
  • 2 UAVs in the Oryol region;
  • 1 UAV in the Republic of Tatarstan.

The rear city of Kazan, capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, came under the second attack since the beginning of the year. On January 14th, Ukrainian UAVs targeted the local industrial facilities and struck several fuel depots. LINK More Ukrainian drones also targeted the city last night. Several waves of explosions thundered in the city. According to local reports, Ukrainian drones could target the local Kazan Helicopters and the Kazan State Aviation Plant located in the area of Borisoglebskoye airfield. The unconfirmed footage allegedly showed the drone strikes and fires but any damage is yet to be confirmed by reliable sources.

In their turn, the Armed Formed of the Russian Federation continue precision strikes on Ukrainian military positions in the war-torn regions. The Russian Ministry of Defense officially confirmed attack on Ukrainian motorized infantry brigade near the city of Volchansk in the Kharkiv region. As a result, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost up to 20 servicemen, two vehicles and a radar station.

Another devastating Russian strike was reported near the town of Bogoduhov in the same Kharkiv region, where Ukrainian forces are deployed before being transferred to the front. A large explosion thundered in the western part of the town, where a military base was located. There were also large Soviet military warehouses and a military training ground used by the AFU.

 

 

The newy shared footage also show a precision strike of Russian Iskander missile on the command post of one of the units of the 41th mechanized brigade of the AFU near the village of Yablonovka in the Sumy region. The Ukrainian military reportedly lost about 60 servicemen and 5 vehicles.

The Ukrainian military continues daily strikes in the Russian rear regions. Most of their targets include the local fuel depots, airfields and military or industrial facilities. Most of Ukrainian drones are intercepted and destroyed by Russian air defense but launched in groups, some of them manage to damage the targets. On the other hand, the Russian military launches massive combined attacks destroying enemy energy and military, industrial facilities across the country, mainly in response to Ukrainian strikes with NATO missiles.

just imagine the headline. usa and iraq exchanging strikes. usa and yugoslavia exchanging strikes. france and lybia exchanging strikes. even the idea is impossible. russia should learn from this. you dont attack anyone who has even a tiny chance to strike back.
