Rockets, Drones Hit U.S. Bases In Syria

Two more rocket and drone attacks have reportedly targeted bases of the United States in Syria’s northern and eastern regions.

Late on October 28, a series of explosions rocked the Green Village base within al-Omar oil fields in the southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. Syrian media reports said that a salvo of rockets hit the base causing fires.

More explosions were reported at a base located near the town of al-Shaddadi in the southern al-Hasakah countryside early on October 29. Smoke was seen rising from the base after the attack. Later, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a coalition of Iranian-backed armed factions, said that it had targeted the base with two suicide drones.

Around 20 attacks targeted U.S. bases in Syria and neighboring Iraq in the last two weeks, with the Islamic Resistance in Iraq claiming responsibility for most of the attacks. Some 21 American troops were wounded in the attacks. Material losses were also reported.

The attacks are being carried out in response to the ongoing Israeli war on the Palestinian Gaza Strip. They began right after the October 17 Al-Ahli Arab Hospital massacre.

In response to the first wave of attacks, the Pentagon announced strikes on two facilities linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps near the town of al-Bukamal in the southern countryside of Deir Ezzor on October 26. The strikes, which were ordered by President Joe Biden, were carried to deter Iranian-backed forces. This attempt has clearly failed.

The U.S. is currently preparing for more escalation in the Middle East. Some 900 troops and a dozen air defense systems were recently deployed in the region.

Israel has been receiving unconditional political and military support from the U.S. since the war broke out in Gaza with the October 7 Hamas-led surprise attack that claimed the lives of more than 1,000 Israelis. As long as Washington is backing the Israeli war, which has so far killed more than 8,000 Palestinians, attacks on U.S. bases in the Middle East will likely continue.

i’m afraid you’re right. hopefully, there are not so many casualties among the us troops,l they still have to wage many wars against the good.

Jarhead Heathen

i’am afraid you are wrong, hopefully, the us troops casualties will increase day by day untill they itself decompose into oil for the future syrian peoples.

Boycott USA the world's bully

problem is syria will get massive revenge bombing from yankee airforce. syria desperately needs air defense upgrades. the usrael airforce supremacy has to be blunted in syria.

Jarhead Heathen

1 or 2 will be shot down this time.

JoaoAlfaiate

by what authority are us forces in syria? there has been no declaration of war and not even a congressional resolution authorizing their deployment. this is pure administrative over reach. i guess uncle sam is busy stealing syria’s oil and wheat. the us military is reduced to being thieves and brigands.
