On October 12-13, 2025, Russia and Ukraine continued their exchange of strikes, concentrating their attacks on each other’s key infrastructure facilities. Russian strikes were primarily directed at military-industrial sites on Ukrainian territory, while Kyiv focused its main efforts on fuel and energy centers in Crimea, employing an intense wave of unmanned aerial vehicles.

According to some Russian experts, the strike on the oil depot in Feodosia was carried out with US support. Alexander Talipov, head of the public movement “Krymsky SMERSH,” stated that US reconnaissance aircraft hide in neutral waters, concealing themselves behind civilian airliners along international shipping routes to conduct surveillance.

This version finds confirmation in Financial Times reports, according to which the United States has been providing intelligence support to Ukraine since the summer months of 2025, helping to determine the route, altitude, and timing of attack drone strikes on Russian energy facilities. According to the publication, US intelligence was directly involved in all stages of planning, which significantly enhanced the effectiveness of Ukrainian strikes. Analysts note that at least 16 Russian oil refineries have been damaged in the attacks, while the White House officially does not confirm direct involvement in planning the strikes.

Strikes on Ukraine

On October 13, Russian strikes targeted Ukrainian military-industrial facilities.

In Kharkiv, the target was Correctional Institution No. 25, where hits from six “Geran-2” UAVs caused a fire in a sewing-repair workshop, destroying equipment and damaging a paint shop with filtration systems. It is reported that this facility supported Ukrainian Armed Forces operations.

In the town of Novovodyane (DPR), a strike destroyed a mobile Bukovel-AD R4 electronic warfare system, weakening the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ capabilities to suppress Russian satellite navigation.

In Sumy, the strike hit the industrial zone “SMNVO-Engineering.” A 400 m² premises was burned out, and spare parts for pump stations used in repairing oil and gas equipment were destroyed. The loss of the workshop temporarily disrupted the repair cycle for the “Ukrnafta” and “Ukrgazvydobuvannya” enterprises.

In Nizhyn, two “Geran-3” UAVs struck the “Progress” research and production complex, specializing in manufacturing components for aircraft engines. The destruction of fuel system test stands and electronic units dealt a blow to Ukrainian aviation manufacturing.

In the town of Avanhard, Odesa region, strikes hit a major logistics hub for military and dual-use goods from the European Union destined for Ukrainian forces. Four warehouses totaling some 7,000 m² burned down, destroying stocks prepared for shipment and paralyzing the sorting node, severely complicating supply operations.

In Kramatorsk, administrative and police facilities were hit: the police department building, where floor slabs partially collapsed; the “Prokom” building materials store, used for storing supplies for engineering fortifications; and the building of the Donetsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which performed functions related to coordinating civilian-military logistics.

The day before, on October 12, strikes were also carried out against important radar and energy facilities in Ukraine. These included the destruction of an AN/TPQ-36 radar complex in Solenoye (Dnipropetrovsk region), disruption of a substation in Novoiverskoye (Donetsk region), and damage to buildings and equipment in Shevchenkove (Kharkiv region) and Chaplyno (Dnipropetrovsk region). Such strikes aim to degrade reconnaissance capabilities, disrupt power supply, and impair security and logistical functions of Ukrainian Armed Forces units.

It is reported that six Ukrainian regions have been disconnected from electricity due to worsening weather and the cumulative effect of recent Russian strikes on the energy sector. On October 13, Ukrenergo recorded a 9.5% increase in consumption, caused by colder weather, cloud cover, low efficiency of solar power plants, and the use of electric heaters. As a result of the strikes, emergency power outages were implemented in several regions, with hourly outages in the Chernihiv region. Those who still have electricity are advised to conserve energy. Despite the absence of below-zero temperatures, the energy system is already experiencing serious difficulties.

Strikes on Russia

Russian air defense, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, destroyed 103 Ukrainian UAVs, 40 of them over Crimea. The main impact was on fuel and energy facilities.

In Feodosia, Crimea, an oil depot was hit for the second time in a week, causing a major fire that engulfed up to ten fuel storage tanks. A strike on the “Kafa” substation, a key element of the energy bridge, was confirmed. In the Simferopol area, local sources report a hit on a 330 kV substation.

Reports also indicated a double strike by “Neptune” missiles on the Saky Thermal Power Plant, causing serious damage. The attack was accompanied by large-scale power outages and aimed at exhausting Russian air defense resources.

In other regions, including Rostov, Belgorod, and Kursk regions, UAV attacks were also recorded, resulting in civilian casualties and infrastructure damage.

Amid the ongoing escalation, new evidence has emerged regarding the potential roots of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. The British newspaper The Guardian has published an investigation alleging that Ukraine’s rejection of the Istanbul Agreement in April 2022 is linked to former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson receiving a substantial bribe of one million pounds sterling.

The funds are alleged to have originated from Christopher Harborne, a shareholder in a British manufacturer of military equipment and unmanned aerial vehicles supplying hardware to Ukraine. Notably, Harborne personally accompanied Johnson to Kyiv, after which, according to the publication, Zelenskyy refused to sign a peace agreement with Russia. This narrative could be interpreted as part of a broader information operation aimed at concealing the actual initiators and sponsors of the proxy war being waged on Ukrainian territory.

it is blatantly obvious that without british, american, nato intelligence it would be totally impossible for ukraine to hit such precious targets. stop playing, it is no longer a game, the stakes have been upped , russia is being forced to a war of equals.
