Pro-Turkey Militants and Kurdish YPG Forces Face Stalemate in Northern Syria

Pro-Turkey militant groups and Kurdish YPG forces have faced a stalement in the Syrian northern province of Aleppo.

Both sides are seeking to seize the key town of al-Bab from the ISIS terrorist group, but they are not able to do this because of each side poses a threat to other in case of advance on ISIS.

On November 22, pro-Turkey militants, supported by the Turkish artillery and air power, took back the villages of Qudayran and Qabasin that they had lost to ISIS earlier.

Now, pro-Turkey forces have to decide how they will advance on al-Bab amid constant clashes with Kurdish YPG units in its outskirts. The answer to this question will likely lead to further escalation in northern Syria.
