AlMasdarNews reports: The Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) carried out a surprise assault against the Turkish Army inside the Van province on Sunday night, wounding several guards at the police headquarters in southeast Turkey.
According to local reports, the PKK launched 4 artillery shells towards the police headquarters in the Van province tonight, resulting in retaliatory shelling from the Turkish Army.
No deaths have been report thus far; however, a half dozen soldiers were believed to be in critical condition after a direct hit by the PKK.
The recent upheaval in Istanbul and Ankara has forced the Turkish Army to redeploy their soldiers from the PKK areas to these aforementioned cities in order to protect the governmental institutions.
“4 artillery shells” is by no means “a surprise assault”. I’m not really sure how this is newsworthy.

Are we reporting it every time the SAA fires a few howitzer shells? Not likely…
–
Looks to me more like a Kurdish attempt to generate some good PR out of the failed coup.
–
So I’ll ask again…why are we wasting dollars/time reporting four shells that didn’t hit anyone?
“a half dozen soldiers were believed to be in critical condition after a direct hit by the PKK.”

Note the lack of usual sources (such as Turkish media, social networks, or govt spokesman).
they killed 3 police officers and 5 injured in city Trabzon
