SDF has now captured the Jafra oilfields and that means they have reached the Khabur Vally where it reaches the Euphrates.
By going to the far east of the present bridgehead of SAA, they have in effect enveloped the bridgehead, making it “useless” as far as a drive on the Omar fields is concerned.
Syrian government forces haven’t been moving fast lately.
Now that they have, as of the 26th, a real bridge, instead of stories and some boats and amphibic vehicles, one might have expected more “drive” from SAA but for the last three days it seems it was IS driving, not being driven.
The next week will likely show who will control the Omar fields, now open to the SDF both from the north and from the east with SDF now through the lines of IS both in the north and in the east, while SAA still has to punch through the lines of IS in the east and is a very long way from the Omar fields at the other side of the river.
Both forces imo opinion lacking sufficient capability for large advances on long stretches in short times.

Thats old information, ISIS has already been repelled and that highway is firmly in SAA hands.
Forces were from T2 – perfect time to take it.

Not yet. But they could soon if the Syrian government forces don’t move fast.

Unless they intend to take the Kurds on, that crossing leads to nowhere.
Not anymore, no.
