Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is traveling to Saudi Arabia on November 6 in a surprise visit, where he will meet with King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.

A source close to Abbas told Haaretz that Abbas will head to Riyadh via Sharm el-Sheik, after meeting with Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi. “The visit was not planned but after being in touch yestrday, it was decided that Abbas would make a quick visit to Saudi Arabia.” The Palestinian ambassador in Riyadh, Bassam al-Agha, told Palestine Radio Monday morning that issues pertaining to both Palestinian and international matters will be discussed.

The Saudis are likely to raise the issue of Iran’s involvement with Palestinians, particularly in light of senior Hamas officials’ recent trip to Iran and after Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah cited a united front between Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah.

Saudi Arabia and Israel have reached an understanding of sorts, as they both oppose Iran’s growing influence in the region, especially concerning the conflict in Syria. Hence the Saudi leadership’s problem of presenting themselves as the “protectors of Arabian world”, and Israel being fine with the old-fashioned Saudi regime. This is also why Israel had tolerated “radical islamists” near its borders as they would have taken care of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

“…Saudi Arabia and Israel have reached an understanding of sorts, as they both oppose Iran’s growing influence in the region, especially concerning the conflict in Syria…”

STFU – you freaks already LOST in Syria and the al Saud royalty have been fleeing the KSA like rats from a sinking ship (at least before this week’s Crown Prince shut down the Riyadh airport to keep them from escaping). I’ll be delighted to see Nettanyahu try to reach an agreement with the next Saudi regime: Wahhabi nutjobs – the real ones that don’t like Israel.

“…Hence the Saudi leadership’s problem of presenting themselves as the “protectors of Arabian world”, and Israel being fine with the old-fashioned Saudi regime…”

Palestine is not the ‘Arabian World’ and the Palestinians are not ethnic Arabs. Syria, Lebanon, the former Palestine and parts of Jordan are the Levantine world and Palestinians are an ethnic Levantine people. They only share Islam and the Arabic language with other Arabs, not a culture or an ethnicity.

President Abbas should stop groveling at the feet of his monied overlords and realize his worst enemy after Israel is Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Wahhabi Death Cult and anyone allied with them. ‘Arabs’ will never save Palistine – Syria and Lebanon could if they were powerful enough.

Will he too resign during this visit, like Hariri did when visiting his Saoudi masters?

I doubt it. Salaman ver. 2.0 was mad at Hariri either for not killing his quota of Lebanese Shia or not promoting the Wahhabi Death Cult strongly enough in Lebanon. Hariri’s former Shia ethnic cleansing assignment / head-chopper promotion business is most likely in the hands of some other Saudi / Little Salaman operative in Lebanon by now, gearing up to assist the coming Saudi/Israeli invasion. The Saudis will talk to (threaten) Abbas and give him a list of their demands to be delivered back to the Lebanese government.

It always confused me why Sunni (approx. 1/4th of Lebanese) seem so pissed off at the Shia (another 1/4th of Lebanese) for forming Hezbollah. Do the Sunni object to any credible defense from Israel or is this just part of the complex network of century-old grudges between ethnic/religious groups in Lebanon? And there must be some Sunni in Lebanon that can see how they’ve been played by Saudi Arabia all along and would fight alongside Hezbollah. Maybe that’s just unrealistic, but I can’t see any Sunni welcoming another Israeli land-grab. Lebanon. Then again, if it was *just* Shia land lost to Israel…

Lebanon should have been a wealthy nation by now – their offshore oil/gas deposits are as big, if not bigger, than Israel’s offshore oil/gas deposits. Political instability has just kept anyone from investing in any exploration there, so the little people Lebanese struggle while a fortune sits untapped offshore. Every inch of land Lebanon loses along the coast to Israel means the offshore oil/gas is lost as well. Lebanese Sunni ‘giving’ Israel the southernmost Shia part means loss of significant fresh-water resources and loss of billions of offshore oil/gas resources. Seems like awfully expensive ethnic cleansing by proxy. I wonder if the Lebanese Sunni realize this?

You can call me Al

Traitorous whore.

Personally think abbas has not got the Palestinian peoples best interests at heart..

goingbrokes

Some kind of deal-making being cooked here. What, like – Israel will stop bombing you people if you let Daesh settle in your areas. We’ve been joking about them settling in Israel after their defeat…

Olayinka Abdulgafar

Me think we’re witnessing the beginning of the escalation of another major and probably mortal war by the Zio/Saud/US front railing from there ignoble defeat in Syria by the Resistance front. I used the word “mortal” because going by what is being said by both parties to the conflict no prisoners will be taken and no hold bar.
