The P-8 Poseidon is a maritime patrol aircraft developed and produced by Boeing Defense, Space & Security on the basis of the the Boeing 737-800ERX (Extended Range) plane. The P-8 can be used in the anti-submarine warfare (ASW), anti-surface warfare (ASUW) and shipping interdiction roles.
