Overview Of Ukrainian-Russian Strikes: Record Number Of Attacks On Russian Energy Facilities

Strikes on Russia

Forces of the Kyiv regime continue to launch attacks on Russian regions, including energy infrastructure, amid ongoing media buzz over the possibility of some kind of a ceasefire and a political settlement of the conflict.

Last night, Russian air defense forces detected and neutralized 49 Ukrainian fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) over several Russian regions.

In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched 14 strikes on Russian energy infrastructure facilities.

In Bryansk region:

• On 4 April, at 07:10, as a result of the AFU [Armed Forces of Ukraine] shelling on the Ivanovka power facility (Rosseti Centre’s branch-Bryanskenergo), and a breakage of the high-voltage line, some civil consumers were cut off electricity in Klimovsky District.
• Moreover, at 16:06, as a result of a Ukrainian UAV attack against the Klimovo power facility (Rosseti Centre’s branch-Bryanskenergo), and the subsequent shutdown of a complete transformer substation, consumers were cut off electricity in Novy Rospusk.
• At 21:06, as a result of fire launched by the AFU at the Pogar power facility (Rosseti Centre’s branch-Bryanskenergo), and a 10kV high-voltage line breakpoint, a transformer substation was powered off in Sluchevsk. The local population has been evacuated.
• At 21:39, as a result of an attack by a Ukrainian UAV against the Khvoshchevskaya power facility (Rosseti Centre’s branch-Bryanskenergo) and destruction of a transformer, a part of civil consumers was cut off electricity in Lemeshovka of Sevsky District.
• In addition, at 08:00, as a result of the AFU artillery fire against the Churovichi power facility (Rosseti Centre’s branch-Bryanskenergo), an overhead cable breakage, a part of civil consumers in Klimovsky District was left without electric power.

In Belgorod region:

• At 07:40, as a result of shelling of the AFU against the Krasnaya Yaruga power facility (Rosseti Centre’s branch – Belgorodenergo), and damage to a complete transformer line, a transformer substation in Krasnoyaruzhsky District was powered off. The residents have been evacuated.
• At 11:46, as a result of an attack by a Ukrainian strike UAV against the Dorogoshch power facility (Rosseti Centre’s branch – Belgorodenergo) and the shutdown of a10kV high-voltage, a number of civil consumers were cut off electricity in Grayvoronsky District.
• At 14:38, the AFU shelled Nechaevka power facility (Rosseti Centre’s branch – Belgorodenergo). A 10kV high-voltage line was damaged. About 500 civil consumers were cut off from electricity in Belgorodsky District.
• At 15:22, as a result of Ukrainian fire against the Komsomolets power facility (Rosseti Centre’s branch – Belgorodenergo), and damage to a transformer substation, some civil consumers were cut off electricity in in Komsomolskiy of Belgorodsky District.

In the Smolensk region, on 4 April, at 01:48, as a result of Ukrainian strike UAV attack, a breakage of wires disabled the ‘Smolenskaya AES-Kaluzhskaya’ 500kV high-voltage line.

In Lipetsk region, on 4 April, at 08:10, as a result of an attack by a strike UAV against Novonikolaevka (Rosseti Centre’s branch – Lipetskenergo) and 6kV high-voltage line shutoff, some civil consumers were cut off electricity in Lipetsky District.

On 4 April at 04:00, in Kremennaya of the LPR [Luhansk People’s Republic], as a result of the Ukrainian UAV attack against the Kremennaya gas-distributing station of the Chernomorneftegas oil and gas company, the Luganskgaz gas transmittal pipelines administration, there were damaged the equipment ensuring the operation of communications.

On 5 April, at 00:11, in the Kherson region, as a result of the attack of a Ukrainian UAV on the Vinogradovo 150kV substation (Rosseti OJSC branch – Tavricheskoye united electric grid company), a 10kV complete distributing device was damaged. At 01:25, the facility was again attacked by a Ukrainian UAV.

On 5 April, at 00:40, in the Voronezh region, an attack by a Ukrainian UAV caused damage resulting in the shutdown of the Ostrogozhsko-Rayonnaya-ANP 110k KV high-voltage line. About 1,820 civil consumers were left without power.

Thus, since Friday morning, 4 April, the Kiev regime has increased the number of UAV attacks and artillery fire on Russian energy infrastructure, despite all the statements and commitments made by Zelensky to the United States to stop such strikes for 30 days.

Strikes on Ukraine

In turn, it is reported that the Russian Armed Forces hit the infrastructure of a military airfield, ammunition depots of missile and artillery weapons, an enterprise for assembling UAVs, as well as accumulations of AFU personnel and equipment and foreign mercenaries in the Ukrainian regions of Kyiv, Kirovograd, Poltava, Cherkasy, Sumy, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Vinnytsia.

In Kharkiv, the massive strike of the Russian Armed Forces hit:

• “Promsvyazi” building (UAV factory);
• Bearing factory;
• “Air Conditioner” factory;
• Kharkov Electrotechnical Plant ‘Ukrelectromash’;
• Turbine factory “Electrotyazhmash”;
• Kharkov Electromechanical Plant;
• Repair bases and drone factory;
• Kharkov Aviation Plant;
• Hangars of helicopters of NATO countries.

Explosions and columns of fire with secondary detonation were also recorded in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

In addition, the AFU’s workshops and explosives production depots near the village of Stepnoye in the Zaporizhzhya region were hit.

On April 4, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Russian Armed Forces carried out “a strike with a high-explosive missile on the venue of a meeting with commanders of AFU formations and Western instructors in one of the restaurants” in Krivoy Rog. The strike caused losses of up to 85 military and foreign officers.

Ukraine, of course, did not confirm the deaths of military personnel as a result of the strike. According to the Ukrainian side’s version, the strike was carried out by a missile with a cluster warhead, which resulted in numerous civilian casualties, including children.

Some experts in the Telegram channels put forward a version that what happened could have been connected with the fall of a Ukrainian air defense missile.

Iskander missile fall at an angle of 90 degrees in the footage, but the missile in Krivoy Rog falls in a different way and by the angle of deviation it is clear that it flies from the west.

For comparison, a photo of the missile’s arrival in Kiev on July 8, 2024, which shows the same Ukrainian air defense missile as the one that fell in Kryvyi Rih. Also on the video provided by the Ukrainian side, the sound of the explosion was deliberately cut out and the part where one could see the restaurant and its parking lot was blurred.

2. Striking houses and people with the missile’s warhead

The footage of the Iskander missile with a cluster warhead arriving at the AFU drones’ gathering place near Zaporozhye shows how this weapon works. It explodes in the air, divides into parts, covering a huge area with extremely small fragments from top to bottom.

The photo from Krivoy Rog shows that the fragments flew in different directions from the explosion from the ground, and at the level of the second floor at most.
