On the night of October 15, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched new wave of precision strikes in Ukrainian rear regions. Both drones and missiles targeted rear infrastructure throughout Ukraine. At night, Russian strikes were recorded in the Mykolaiv, Odessa, Cherkassy, Zaporozhie, Chernihiv, Sumy regions.
Mykolaiv came under the most massive attack in recent times. According to local reports, at least seven Russian strikes thundered in the city. The local authorities confirmed the attack and claimed that an industrial facility was damaged.
One of the targets was the Mykolaiv Armored Vehicle Plant. The facilities are used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine for repair of tanks and armored vehicles, including those supplied by NATO. The plant was struck by at least five Russian missiles. According to available information, there were German Leopard tanks, Us Challengers, French VAB, AMX-10 armored vehicles being repaired on the territory of the plant at the moment of the attack. As a result, two workshops were destroyed and a large fire broke out in the area.

According to preliminary reports, a fuel depot and a point of temporary deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine traditionally hidden in a hotel were also destroyed in the city.
The air defense forces of Ukraine failed to repel Russian attack but they also struck civilian infrastructure. At least two missiles of the S-300 air defense system struck civilian market located near the local regional mobilisation center. Ukrainian officials and propaganda always blame the Russian military for alleged attacks on civilians. Thus, it should not be excluded that Ukrainian forces may intentionally launch strikes on civilian infrastructure for regular media provocations.

In the morning, several Russian missiles struck targets in the southern Odessa region. Large explosions thundered in the area of the Burnas lake located near the Romanian border. The exact targets of the attack are yet to be revealed.
Ukrainian military positions are pounded in eastern regions of the country. Russian precision missile strike destroyed launched of the US-made HIMARS MLRS near the village of Koshary in the border Sumy region. The Armed Forces of Ukraine deployed a large number of NATO systems to launch strikes on the Russian territory and support the ongoing operations in the Kursk region. As a result, many such systems, including numerous HIMARS MLRS, were destroyed in the Sumy region.
Another target destroyed by Russian night strikes were military hangars on the outskirts of the town of Atyusha in the Chernihiv region. As a result of the attack, ammunition for and maintenance equipment were destroyed at a service center of HIMARS systems.

The constant Russian strikes in Ukrainian strategic rear areas disrupt military supplies from NATO and across Ukraine, disrupt repair of NATO equipment in Ukrainian industrial facilities and weaken the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In their turn, the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not attempt any massive strikes in Russian rear regions last night. The Russian Ministry of Defense officially reported that Russian air defense forces intercepted and destroyed three Ukrainian UAVs in the western Russian Belgorod, Tula and Kursk regions at night. Ukrainian attempts to launch strikes continued during the day. At least four more Ukrainian drones were destroyed in the Belgorod region in the afternoon. No damage was reported in Russian rear regions.
