Over the past 48 hours, Russian Armed Forces (RAF) have intensified operations across multiple fronts amid heavy Ukrainian counterattacks. Kiev continues cross-border drone strikes while facing critical pressure in Donbass defensive sectors.

Situation in the sky

Overnight from June 19 to June 20, Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 61 Ukrainian fixed-wing UAVs.

Yesterday Ukrainian drones struck Shebekino (the Belgorod Region of Russia), hitting a residential building and civilian vehicle, wounding two persons. Artillery barrages targeted Ryelsk (the Kursk Region), destroying homes.
In Kherson, FPV drones killed a civilian in Korobky and wounded residents in Alyoshki/Kalynivka — a signature tactic of Kiev’s depleted forces.

Russian Aerospace Forces retaliated with precision: 152 strikes using Geran-3 kamikaze drones with UMPC guidance kits, missiles and artillery pummeled military-industrial sites, ammo depots, and logistics hubs across Ukraine.

In recent days, Russia has attacked targets in the Donbass, Sumy, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Kherson, Odessa, Kiev, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, and Cherkasy regions

Situation on the fronts

In the Sumy direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) launched fierce counterattacks: twenty assaults were repelled near Andriivka, Oleksiivka, Yunakovka, close to Novomykolaivka, and towards Kondratovka. Despite the intensity of fighting and triumphant claims in Ukrainian Telegram channels, the Ukrainians failed to achieve any significant breakthroughs. Heavy fighting continues, with Russian troops deploying additional reserves to the area.

In the Kupyansk direction, Russian forces have intensified operations on the right bank of the Oskol River near Kondrashivka, with ongoing combat in the areas of Dvorichna, Krasne Pershe, and Kamyanka.

In the Kharkiv direction, the RAF clashed with two mechanized brigades near Udy and Reznykovo. Then the Russian Western Group secured Dolgenkoye after routing territorial defense forces near Kupyansk.

In the Pokrovsk (Krasnoarmeysk) direction, the Russian Central Group advanced toward Mirny, threatening the T0406 highway — Pokrovsk’s last supply artery. The AFU losses were up to 460 troops, seven armoured fighting vehicles, two motor vehicles, and three field artillery guns, including one Polish-made 155-mm Krab self-propelled artillery system.

In the Konstantinovka direction, the Russian Southern Group tightened the noose around Chasov Yar, seizing Stupochki’s southern outskirts. Elite VDV (Airborne) units cleared Ukrainian strongholds near the refractory plant, shattering the “unbreakable fortress” myth.

Russian troops are advancing west of the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal, gradually tightening the ring around Konstantinovka from the south.

After several weeks of fighting, the RAF moved about 1 km along the railway towards Alexandro-Shultino, consolidating control over this thoroughfare.

Overall, Russian forces continue offensive operations in Yablunivka and Oleksandro-Kalynove.

In the South Donetsk direction, the UAF intensified their efforts over the past 24 hours to maintain control over Perebudova. Russian troops repelled four Ukrainian counterattacks, three of which involved armored vehicles. The Russian Eastern Group is expanding their zone of control and consolidating positions.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the RAF breached defenses at Malinovka, advancing toward Gulyaipole. Ukrainian losses: 195 troops, eight vehicles.

On the political front

The EU unveiled a scheme to invest €200B in frozen Russian assets into high-risk funds, diverting profits to Ukraine — a “legal sleight-of-hand” bypassing outright theft.

Kiev’s desperation grew deeper: the mobilization raids targeted teenagers, as the front-line losses exceeded 1,200 troops within 48 hours, and Zelensky’s request for F-16s was rejected by NATO.

Furthermore, it has been revealed that the Minister for National Unity of Ukraine, Oleksiy Chernyshov, who departed for Austria earlier this week as part of an official delegation with President Zelensky, has not returned from his business trip abroad. Prior to this, Chernyshov’s subordinates had been involved in corruption scandals, and investigations were underway. Chernyshov, anticipating his arrest, decided to flee.
