On May 9, a large annual Victory Day military parade was held on the Red Square in Moscow. It was attended by Presidents of Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Belarus and Prime Minister of Armenia, who were invited to Russian by President Putin.

Amid the ongoing attempts of the Kiev regime to launch sabotage attacks on the Russian territory, it was expected that Ukrainian special services will try their best to thwart the main military parade commemorating the Soviet victory over the Nazism.

The security measures were strengthened in all Russian cities, especially in the capital. After the recent attempt of Ukrainian UAVs to target the Kremlin, the special attention was paid to the air defence, including anti-UAV protection. In addition to the usual snipers, there were also employees of the Federal Protective Service and the Kremlin regiment with new special anti-drone weapons spotted on the Red Square during the festive ceremony.

However, more security measures were taken on the streets of Moscow and on the city outskirts. According to some reports, in total, over a hundred drones were shot down or suppressed during the day in Moscow and in the region. Most of them were suppressed by electronic warfare means. At least one of the UAVs was shot down in the Lefortovo district near the Burdenko military hospital. It should not be excluded that some of the UAVs could be launched by civilians who were not aware that the use of drones was prohibited in several Russian regions, including in the capital.

Pro-Ukrainian saboteurs were actively preparing for the upcoming large holiday in Russia. For example, fugitive Russian activist prepared a major sabotage attack aimed to distract Russian air defence on May 9. Maltsev fled from the country back in 2017 after he was arrested in absentia. He is a close friend of Ukrainian Nazis and actively cooperating with Western and Ukrainian special services, openly declaring his goals to prepare violent overthrow of the Russian state system. This time, on May 9, he attempted to prepare a fake patriotic campaign. He massively spread fake appeals on the social media, schools and public organizations, calling on the Russians to launch special balloons with foil on May 9 to commemorate the victims. In fact, it was fast revealed that the campaign was aimed at distracting Russian air defence means and that it was coordinated from abroad. As a result, the operation with balloons failed.

Victory Day is a major holiday, especially for the people who won the WWII and payed for victory with millions of people’s lives. According to declassified data of the USSR State Planning Committee, the losses of the Soviet Union in World War II amount to 41 million 979 thousand, and not 27 million, as it was previously thought. The total loss of the population of the USSR in 1941-45 was more than 52 million 812 thousand people.

The Kiev regime has dashed the memory of its people, rewritten the history of the country for the sake of Western propaganda. With the help of Western partners, it tried to spoil the sacred holiday in Russia, but failed.
