North Korea To Mass-Produce New Surface-To-Air Missile System (Photos, Video)

North Korea’s Kim Jong-un has ordered the mass production of the KN-06 surface-to-air missile system following its successfull test, according to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

KCNA added that Kim Jong-un watched “the successful test” of the defense system organized by the Academy of National Defence Science. However, the agency didn’t reveal date and location of the test.

“Some defects in the weapon system, discovered last year, were perfectly overcome to stand the test,” KCNA quoted Kim as saying. “This weapon system, whose operation capability has been thoroughly verified, should be mass-produced to deploy in all over the country like forests so as to completely spoil the enemy’s wild dream to command the air, boasting of air supremacy and weapon almighty.”

According to the agency, the new missile defense system was intercepting and destroying drones and rockets during the test.

Now, the surface to ship missiles, to take care of those aircraft carriers…Could be nuclear tipped for greater effectiveness…

MeMadMax

Nope.
Operation crossroads has proven that even a WW2 essex class carrier can withstand a near direct hit from a nuclear bomb.
Also, a carrier never sails alone.
Also, you want to sink a carrier, torpedo her…

The
End…

Shhh

Crossroads was 23 kiloton air burst .Although the Able bomb missed its target, Nevada, by nearly half a mile, and it failed to sink or to contaminate the battleship, a crew would not have survived. Therefore, people deep enough inside the ship to experience a 90% radiation reduction would still have received a lethal dose of 1,000 rems.[84] In the assessment of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, “a large ship, about a mile away from the explosion, would escape sinking, but the crew would be killed by the deadly burst of radiations from the bomb, and only a ghost ship would remain, floating unattended in the vast waters of the ocean.”[16]

MeMadMax

Nice quote there brah…

Oh yea… I was a Machinist Mate in the USN(USS Camden AOE-2)…

I might know something about this stuff….

Shhh

There are probably defenses like radiation shielding . So the USN likely has lots of solutions it does not publish. But launching planes on board radioactive flight deck hit by EMP would not be fun or very healthy. As for missile ships they can likely shoot much of their load before they are hit. I guess nuclear war is a whole different beast than conventional war. No one wants to take conventional weapon systems to a nuclear war. As far as three USN carriers in pacific goes I think its symbolic. Trumps is saying that the US supports Japan and its allies. The Japanese need reassurance but not Honda and Toyota nukes and ICBMs.

MeMadMax

I didn’t say a carrier would be combat worthy after a blast…
I said it would take a different method to sink her. and that a torpedo(s) would be most effective.
There’s a difference.
However, if you really have your heart set on a nuke, a underwater explosion would be most effective in that case.
Also, EMP pulse protection is built in to a ships electrical system by design. Nothing special, just the way all ships have to be wired is what protects them. Unfortunately, crew protection is non-existant and you will get fried. I saw a electrician get hit with 440v @ 3800 amps(the full generator load when he brought it online), he turned into a fireball and his boots melted.
Three carriers in one place is most definitely NOT symbolic. Remember, this is not just a carrier, this is a battlegroup of ships per carrier as a carrier does not sail alone. And thats just what we can see, there is also at least one submarine with each carrier as well.
This is not cheap and it means business.
The japs don’t need assurance, south korea does.
They have several hundred artillery pieces aimed at Seoul…
Also, it would be great to remove the north korean regime anyways, they are starving to death there…

Shhh

I think the costs of nuclear war are too great and too unpredictable . In Korean war the DPRK lost a third of their population and almost every building . The DPRK has gone to fusion of light isotopes like lithium 6 lithium 7 deterium and DPRK knows what other isotopes. DPRK has excess of pure lithium 6 and offered to sell it online .w w w ny times.com/2017/04/03/us/politics/north-korea-nuclear-trump-china.html?_r=0 Lithium and many of these light isotopes useful as fusion fuel are common household items but not in an isotopically pure form. DPRK cold fusion project allowed testing multiple light isotopes for fusion capacity.Obviously with heavy water reactor DPRK has thousands of kilos of deuterium in isotopically pure form. How much of the gamma trigger does DPRK possess? KCNA claims that they can make as many fusion nukes as they want. Only a small percent of GDP is required to make solid fuel liquid fuel and nuclear weapons. The DPRK position is that they will not fight a conventional war and will go full nuclear immediately if attacked . As for the DPRK starving, I have visited there seven years ago when only one person in a thousand had a pot belly. Look at the DPRK female guards now. Some DPRK guards need to go on a diet. The nuclear bunkers are likely full of stored food .The leadership of DPRK will likely stay intact even after full blown nuclear assault equal to devastation of Korean war. Yemen throws ballistic missiles toward Saudi capital even after Saudis have total air supremacy for years. So DPRK leadership could throw ballistic fusion nukes toward their enemy with air supremacy. Yes the Yemen people civilians starve and there is cholera in Yemen. But there is no surrender in Yemen nor will there be in DPRK . A nuclear attack will not produce surrender of DPRK and retaliation would be extreme. A new approach is to spoil and corrupt the DPRK people . A novel approach never tried would turn DPRK people into selfish spoiled greedy people like the top one percent in South Korea and China .

MeMadMax

ummm… ok…
fusion nuke = thermonuclear device ok?
And just because you have the materials doesn’t mean you have the ability either…
Also, the soldiers double as farmers: No soldiers = No farming = No what little food they do have.

Shhh

Practice makes perfect. There were dozens of light isotopes that needed investigation as fusion fuel. Both the USA and USSR did over 1000 nuke fusion tests each in from 1945-1965. Then both USSR and USA prohibited other countries from performing research that they had done. Likely DPRK could manufacture nukes and missiles with only 20,000 men or mouths to feed….one thousandth the total population. The rest could become refugees. The fewer mouths to feed then the longer the food lasts.

MeMadMax

Ur on crack brah.
If there was only 20,000 men then the country would be overrun, nukes or not……. Hell even china would join in at that rate…

Shhh

Remember that DPRK has surface to surface nuclear artillery of 250mm to 300 mm warhead size. A ground assault of DPRK firing dozens of fusion nukes is suicide for attacking ground force. Plus due to extensive 300 miles of tunnels the nukes could be planted underground as mines virtually anywhere. No ground force occupation of country can occur until its nuclear stockpile is depleted. Once again the occupation depends on size and depletion of nuclear stockpile . In pure fission bombs the DPRK would be depleted in a day. But fusion nukes…with widely available materials as fuel requires attacker to know what the DPRK is using as a gamma trigger .The limiting factor for number of fusion warheads is the gamma triggers not the fusion fuel of warheads.

Shhh

read the declassified paper by Teller and Ulam on March 9, 1951: On Heterocatalytic Detonations I: Hydrodynamic Lenses and Radiation Mirrors, in which they proposed their revolutionary staged implosion idea. The declassified version is extensively redacted. Note the Word RADIATION MIRROR. Fission chain reaction allows thermal heat rays to blow apart reaction with poor efficiency. But fusion reaction proceeds much faster than fission because it uses photons to trigger the reaction. The high energy photon is reflected like mirror and hits nucleus ….Fusion reaction spreads at light speed faster than speed of nuclear mass fragments . Once the fusion fuel photon chain reaction begins , the photon chain reaction spreads at almost the speed of light. With adequate supply fusion fuel the DPRK only needs photon [gamma] triggers . The heavy U238 case on modern layer cake designs is there to prevent predetonation due to nearby photon sources ie attacking ABM warheads with gamma bursts warheads .So DPRK knew it would be denied access to large amounts U239. It sought to develop gamma triggers for fusion fuel. Currently DPRK designs are layer cake. The limitations on warhead number depend on number gamma triggers not the abundant supply of fusion fuel. The outside of warhead uses a neutron reflector U238 to prevent predetonation. It is also possible to use RADIATION MIRROR in warhead and focus EMP beam toward enemy.

Was it proven those online ads came from North Korea? Or was this just a set up to get North Korea blamed? North Korea gets blamed for lots of things. The latest thing is the WannaCry cyber attack.

Shhh

Its just an accusation. Remember Castle Bravo was 15 megatons 9 million more than predicted because the official propaganda states the Lithium 7 was nuclear fuel as well as well as Lithium 6. Castle Bravo was worst experimental error in history exceeding predicted yield by 9 megatons. However look through the USA nuclear propaganda. Even by 1954 after 9 years of nuclear testing and billions of dollars and best minds in USA , the US did not understand all fusion yields in 1954 .In years that followed USA did a thousand tests. So real fusion nuclear research takes lots of tests with lots of different isotopes and lots of different design. The DPRK could argue it needed as many as 1000 tests just like USA and USSR. The public relations of USA and USSR conducted much of research as valid scientific research for scientific advancement . Sadly DPRK does not spin that it is involved in important nuclear research that has applications for peaceful use of nuclear power. The DPRK does not paint flowers on its ballistic missiles so they are called threats by USA. A double standard applies. The USA and USSR did 1000 nuclear tests. The DPRK claimed on KCNA it made a ” cold fusion break though” in 2010. DPRK was searching light isotopes for hot fusion and testing them with cold fusion. The idea of focused high energy beam has been theorized for years. The future of clean energy belongs to fusion. Countries should treat each other in humane fashion and promote clean fusion energy. Instead fusion power corrupted USA which aspired for global domination. Those with fusion power should use fusion research for peaceful energy research.Instead fusion power and technology is used to threaten the weak. Any nuclear attack against DPRK is lunacy since USA can not accurately estimate the knowledge and progress of DPRK in fusion research.

“A new approach is to spoil and corrupt the DPRK people . A novel approach never tried would turn DPRK people into selfish spoiled greedy people like the top one percent in South Korea and China .”

Yes, this approach is probably better for the Americans. More effective.

FlorianGeyer

People are starving to death in the Yemen and thats far easier to solve that North Korea. All the US needs to do to stop the genocide of Yemeni civilians is stop selling arms to Saudi Arabia and declare the regime of parasitic princes a terrorist state,

tigbear

They are being starved by sanctions not by Kim. Americans have no problem with Masada (there are doubts that legend is real though), but they keep making fun of the North Koreans who are under a similar siege-like situation, and cruelly blame the North Korean government for the siege. Americans are very hypocritical in that sense. They act so pure and moral like they care about the North Korean people, talking about starvation and how terrible it is, when what their government is doing is systematically starving the people to make the nation’s defenses weak so that they can invade the nation (cynically citing self-defense as the excuse “US is being threatened by North Korea”), and probably kill millions of people in the process.

The problems come after detonation.

The after blast has immense heat that can melt anything in its path and the shock waves would crack hard steel, the radiation cloud would terminate all life in its sphere.

MeMadMax

Man dude, you really need to explore beyond the propaganda and fear mongering…

If you know otherwise, like say personal experience and lived to tell the tale, please say.

Otherwise, face reality, the N blast is not like in a Indiana Jones movie or Ray Luca the mobster in Crime Story.

I have training, from tried and true methods, that are not available in the civilian world…
Get over it.
A nuclear blast is survivable….

OK, over it.
Your name will be added to India Jones, Ray Luca, MeMadMax !!

Hey, that sounds like a good deal, lates.

The Yemenese have sunk a number of Saudi Warships with ship killing missiles. . .

This would be an interesting game.

I doubt North Korea would use nukes. Not unless nukes were used on North Korea first.

Those communist wanabe tyrants will be wiped from the map. Die scum, die…

Why are you so aggressive? Stop taking your USA-Israeli made propaganda pills for a few days and you’ll feel better.

Solomon Krupacek

in taht fact hi is right, that in NK is a brutal regime, comparable with nazi germany.

tigbear

Were the Nazis more brutal than the Bolshevik communists whose leadership were mostly Jewish?

Just leave North Korea alone and nothing will happen. Problem solved. (I of course know this is not the intention).

Joe Doe

Good for them. This is what keeps N.K save from the american aggression

Admiral_Moorer_believed

Maybe if Iraq and Libya had listened to NK. . .

tigbear

North Korea isn’t out of danger yet. It needs a long range rocket that can land a nuke on Washington DC. When it does this, the threats from the US will stop and the nuclear blackmail will be completely ended. Then after this, North Korea has to make sure the US cannot jam the electronics.

BL

Go North Korea, defend yourself against the terrorist Rothschild Banking empire (aka USA)

Shhh

Doesn’t the pop out look so clean crisp and professional. Some missile scientist breathed a sigh of relief when the test went well.

Leon De Elias

Hahaha..It was a question of time when the S300 going to appear in DPRK..As hundreds of former SSSR unemployed nuclear scientists and other weapon designer ,found well payed work in North Korea,I can imagine that they are doing a good job..

chris chuba

I wonder what its operation specs are? It looks superficially like an S300.

I noticed that The Donald has cooled the saber rattling quite a bit. The U.S. Foreign Policy Establishment just cannot stay mad that long at anyone else other than Russia/Iran. They have even blamed N. Korea’s missile program on Iran just because they bought a few 10yrs ago.

Admiral_Moorer_believed

If only the US would sign a Non-Agression treaty in a deal for NK to stop developing Nuclear weapons as NK have asked for. . .

chris chuba

At this point Kim wouldn’t go for it after what we did to Saddam and Gaddafi. They had agreements with the U.S. too.

We’d have to do more than offer a non-aggression pact, like lift all sanctions and withdraw our forces When you renege on agreements, the price of future agreements goes up. This is what the imbecile Neocons don’t understand.

tigbear

Even then it won’t be enough. North Korea is committed to making long range nuke weapons that can reach Washington DC. After the test missile passes the test, North Korea will manufacture lots of these, as many as the uranium reserves allow. Who knows how many that will be. 100? 200? 500? The more the better. Once the first one is made, making more doesn’t take that long to manufacture. It goes into mass-production.

The USA has shown what it’s about. No one can trust it. It would make as much sense for Russia and China to denuclearize as it would for North Korea to do the same.

After what it’s been through for the last 70 years, can you blame them?

Withdrawal of bases or cessation of exercises just means North Korea will retreat from maximum alertness. This will increase the chance of peace on the peninsula and the mainland won’t be under threat if war breaks out. (But it won’t stop North Korea from making nuke missiles.)

It would be in the USA’s interests to reduce hostilities since there’s a chance the American people are also in danger if a war breaks out.

This is why North Korea is asking for the USA to stop its belligerence.

Everyone loses in the next Korean war: South Koreans, Japanese, North Koreans and probably US citizens too … the US military will suffer a high casualty rate too — this is not like Iraq or Syria. North Korea knows this and asks the US to stop behaving in this way.

USA missed its chance to stop the weapons development. You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. The US did not understand the North Korean mentality. You push those people to disarm, they will do the opposite. They are very contrary people. They don’t like being told what to do. They will do the opposite just to show they cannot be pushed around. They are very defiant and independent. Threaten them and they are stimulated by the challenge. This has driven the state to become like what it is like now. The threats, which are very real by the way, have made North Korea more determined to defend themselves. They don’t make North Koreans back down. It pulls the people together. The US has actually helped the Kim family in this way. It doesn’t take much for the Kims to tell their people they are under threat from Americans when Americans are doing these military exercises right across the fence.

This has made North Koreans more resourceful and more inventive and has driven them to keep up with scientific developments in military research.

Now that they sacrificed so much to get to the point they have now, they are not going to give it up. They will push for more. The Korean War had a terrible effect on their psyche. They faced an existential threat unlike what many other nations have known. One-third of their people were wiped out. Hardly a family exists where they do not have a family member who perished in the war.

Kim Jong Un’s grandfather, Kim Il Sung, the founder of the DPRK, was hunted like an animal by the current Japanese PM’s grandfather when he was a famous guerrilla fighter. So Marshall Kim has scores to settle with Shinzo Abe. Abe’s grandfather is widely suspected to have committed atrocities and probably should have been indicted and put on trial for war crimes. But the Americans let him go and he even became a high-ranking member in the post war government.

More

chris chuba
Kim would go for it if it had a generous Food Aid Package to sweeten the deal.
That’s how a previous deal was done where missile silos in NK were blown “decommissioned”.

tigbear

Don’t stop manufacturing them until you have 100,000 of them.
