On the night of October 10, Russian forces continued precision strikes on the Ukrainian military and infrastructure facilities in different regions. This time, the targets were again Ukrainian sea ports in the southern Odessa and Mykolaiv regions, where Kiev attempts to launch export of its grain, while the Ukrainian military is using granaries for storage of military equipment.
At night, numerous explosions thundered in the Odessa region, including in the city of Odessa and the village of Dachnoe located several kilometers to the north from the city. Russian strikes also destroyed facilities on the bank of the Danube River in the Izmailovsky district, including in the village of Vilkovo. More strikes hit the Black Sea port of Ochakov.
While Russian missiles are destroying Ukrainian military infrastructure, Ukrainian Air Defence Forces not only failed to intercept their targets but again threatened lives of local civilians. Numerous eyewitnesses filmed the failed strikes of Ukrainian air defence systems in the region.
Ukrainian servicemen attempted to intercept Russian drones and missiles in the Mykolaiv region but reportedly failed. More explosions thundered in the region but the targets of Russian strikes were not revealed.
Russia’s permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzia recently stressed that Russia will destroy grain storage facilities in Ukraine since they are used as ammunition depots. He added that the Kiev regime provokes disasters itself by placing military equipment in residential areas.
“The location of heavy equipment and air defense systems in residential areas is the grossest violation (of international laws) and leads to tragedies,” Nebenzia added.
