On the night of August 5, new wave of Russian strikes pounded Ukrainian military facilities in the rear regions. Explosions were reported in the Kyiv, Vinnytsya, Poltava, Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnepropetrovsk, Cherkassy, Poltava regions.
The Kyiv region and Ukrainian capital came under several Russian attacks last week. In particular, some military facilities in the town of Bila Tserkva were targeted by three waves of Russian strikes. The third attack was launched last night. Explosions were reported in the area but the targets of the attacks are yet to be revealed.
Another region pounded by several waves of Russian attacks in recent days is the Vinnytsya region. As a result of the night strikes, the local railway logistics hub was reportedly damaged. Another target destroyed in the region was reportedly a training ground of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
More Russian strikes targeted the city of Dnipro in the Dnepropetrovsk region. The city was targeted by Russian kamikaze drones. As a result of the attack, a large fire reportedly broke out in the area of the local airfield. Russian drones destroyed a military warehouse.
The border Kharkiv region is pounded by Russian drones, missiles and heavy bombs. In the morning, the region came under precision strike of Russian Iskander-M missile.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Russian Iskander-M missile destroyed a point of temporarily deployment of foreign mercenaries in the Kharkiv region. Russian reconnaissance spotted foreigners in the town of Balakleya. As a result of the strike, their point of deployment as well as about 80 militants were destroyed.
Ukrainian air defense is depleted and no supplies of additional air defense systems from NATO help the Armed Forces of Ukraine to secure their rear facilities.
