New Russian Advance Threatens Ukrainian Forces In Toretsk From Northern Direction

The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are rapidly developing their offensive in the area of Toretsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Russian forces continue offensive operations and expand their zone of control in several directions. The recently reported Russian advance is threatening the Ukrainian garrison in Toretsk from another northern direction.

On July 23, several Ukrainian military sources reported sudden Russian advance on the southern flank of the Artyomovsk front. According to preliminary reports, the Russian troops gained control of large areas near the village of Kurdymovka. As a result of Russian attacks, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were forced to retreat several kilometers and abandon their positions.

The break through Ukrainian defense near Kurdymovka threatens Ukrainian forces in different areas. Russian forces may continue their offensive to the east towards Chasov Yar or to the south, threatening the Ukrainian garrison in Toretsk from the north.

New Russian offensive may forces the Ukrainian military command to transfer strategically important reinforcement from other areas, for example weakening defense in Chasov Yar.

Meanwhile, the Russian military is advancing in all villages near Toretsk. 

Russian assault groups gained a foothold along the Zhitomirska, Kobzar, Shkolna streets in the village of Zalizne.

Russian forces advanced up to 4 kilometers south of Pivdene and two more gob piles came under their control.

Clashes continue in the center of New York, where Russian forces advanced on the streets over the past day.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are transferring reserves to the area in an attempt to repel Russian attacks.
