On June 24, a new rocket attack targeted the Khor Mor gas complex in the Chamchamal district of Sulaymaniyah province in the Iraqi Kurdistan region.

According to Reuters, at least one “Katyusha” rocket landed near the employee housing of the United Arab Emirates energy company Dana Gas which operates the gas complex. The term Katyusha is usually used in the Arab world to describe to any 107 mm rocket. No casualties were reported as a result of the attack.

A video from the site of the rocket attack showed a column of rising black smoke near the gas complex with sirens sounding.

This was the second attack to target the Khor Mor gas complex in less than 72 hours. On June 22, a 107 mm rocket, believed to be an Iranian-made Fadjr-1, struck the complex. The rocket attack didn’t result in any casualties or material losses.

No group has claimed responsibility for either attack, so far. While pro-Iranian factions were blamed by some unofficial sources, it is possible that the recent attacks were the result of a power struggle between key political and economic players in Kurdistan.

The autonomous Kurdish region experienced several attacks with rockets and drones in the last few months. Many of the recent attacks targeted oil and gas facilities.

Put these Zion pigs in their place… I said this too many times. When the time comes you all understand that Kurds are nothing but Zion worshipers and will die for Zionism.
