New Photos Suggest GNA Forces Received Loads Of Guided Anti-Tank Missiles

On September 14, Oded Berkowitz, an intelligence analyst, posted photos of anti-tanks guided missiles (ATGMs) that may have been recently delivered to forces loyal to the Libyan Governed of National Accord (GNA).

The photos, which were taken from a short video posted by Twitter user Johan, show dozens of French-made MILAN, Russian-made Kornet and Konkurs ATGMs.

The weapons may have been indeed supplied by the GNA’s main backers, Turkey and Qatar. In the last few months, the two countries shipped loads of advanced weapons to GNA forces, including armored vehicles and combat drones.

Nevertheless, the former Libyan Army was known to operate all of these types of ATGMs. The army’s stocks were filled with such missiles, most of them were looted during the revolution.

Regardless of their origin, this large abundance of ATGMs will for sure help GNA forces hold onto their positions in the vicinity of the Libyan capital, Tripoli.

In the scheme of things GNA seems somewhat less of a threat to the Libyan people than the Warlord is. Erdogan is of course another matter!
