NATO is Ready to Protect Turkey from Russia if Necessary. Or No?

This was provoked after last week Turkey claimed that Russia has violated their airspace with a warplane. Following the occasion Stoltenberg said:

‘’NATO is ready and able to protect all allies, including Turkey against any threats.’’

Ankara scrambled two F-26s to intercept the Russian aircraft and summoned the Russian ambassador in protest.
However, according to some opinions, this is not true. McClatchy said that he doesn’t believe that the Russian jet violated the Turkish airspace. The aircraft was bombing in Yamdiyyah, a Syrian village directly on the border- had it attacked Turkish land, the Turkish fighter jets wouldn’t had stood still.

According to a US military official claims that the Turkish air space was violated by 5 miles and the Turkish jets had scrambled but the Russian aircraft had returned before they could respond. He thinks that the incident was close to a whole armed confrontation.

But, McClatchy claims that Turkey has moved its border. According to him, it has created a buffer zone five miles inside Syria since June 2012, when a Syrian air defense missile shot down a Turkish fighter plane that had strayed into Syrian airspace. He also added that Turkey is ready to defend against enemies at any minute.

Turkey, recently was involved in a situation where it was proven to be involved with ISIS. A German intelligence document proved that Turkey is assisting a coalition of Islamist and Salafist units led by Harakat Ahrar ash-Sam. They aim to establish a Sunni Wahhabist state under Sharia law in Syria.

The Russians know that Ahrar ash-Sam currently is the most powerful jihadist leader in Syria. They realize that if NATO sends troops as it is ready to, it will help the Islamic zone. We hope that NATO will realize it as well.
