The main point in common for negotiations between Kiev and Moscow were the necessary humanitarian procedures. First of all, the security of humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of civilians.

It seems the special op would have gone a completely different way except Russia had its own Battle of Crete comparable disaster (analogous to the situation with German paratroopers on Crete, World War II). No word of losses but it is possible the two transport helicopters had up to 400 special op paratroopers, and one transporter went down in the sea and the other was shot down.
