Residents in several neighborhoods in the Iraqi city of Mosul staged an uprising against the ISIS terrorist group, which holds the city. At least five terorists were killed.

The residents of the Bab al-Jadid neighborhood and ISIS terrorists began fighting on Sunday night, the Iraq’s al-Sumaria news website reported on July 17, citing an unnamed local source.

As a result of the uprising, ISIS terrorists were expelled from their positions in the area, two terrorists were killed. According to the report, the residents also burned two vehicles belonging to ISIS.

The source also said that there was an armed clash between the residents of Mosul’s southern district of Hammam al-Alil and ISIS units. Three ISIS fighters were killed during the clash.

The residents want to purge the district of the terrorists and to take full control of it. According to the source, the Iraqi flag has been already raised over a number of the district’s buildings.

ISIS terrorists began a campaign of terror in Iraq in June 2014, when they overran Mosul and declared it their so-called headquarters. The northern and western parts of the country have been plagued by gruesome violence. Iraqi army soldiers and allied volunteer fighters have been fighting to return terrorist-held regions in joint operations. On February, the Defense Minister of Iraq, Khaled al-Obaidi said that the country has taken a decisive struggle to regain the northern city of Mosul by the end of the year.

Any neighborhood that kicks IS out and cooperates with the iraqi forces will be spared from the massacre and heavy bombing. Those that achieve this will save their lives and property.

Mosul *will* be sieged and it *will* fall, no matter how long it takes. And they must have seen what happened to the Fallujah rats when they tried to abandon the sinking ship.
