I can’t wait for all of Syria to have direct democracy councils in every town, so the Syrian people themselves control their own country.

I’ve lived in communes and liked it a lot. I have worked very hard for years to set up such a thing in Canada, and achieving the foundational culture for a participatory, cooperative society is very very difficult. The Kurds have been very fortunate to get it up and going there. Syria’ oppression of Kurds pre-war has resulted in their good fortune to have direct democracy now. The syrian Kurds couldn’t even get passports or own land, so there was no state for them, thus they had to have their own neighbourhood councils, often just held in the streets, to get anything done. When US created islamo-facists came through, and the Ba’athists left the East of Syria for dead, the Kurds already had their own justice systems, self defense forces, and thus they were able to barely survive, only a few of their towns got slaughtered and thrown in mass graves. Then they were able to take US arms instead of Daesh shovels for Kurdish graves. And they did, and they took participatory, feminist democracy and self-defense forces right across the whole country. In order for the U.S. to cover it’s ass after everyone was finding out that Daesh = the U.S., the yanks had to cover their ass and use a non nazi, non terrorist proxy force for once in the long history of right wing terrorist CIA proxy wars… So now the world has a real revolution. It’s fricking a miracle, especially as WWIII sets in. An absolute miracle that a new logic, which can head off the necessity of war in the imperial finance that is the logic of capitalism, has appeared, thanks to the bumbling, arrogant imperialists themselves!
This is a very safe and uninspired move, instead of the Tiger forces moving south east they are going to move south west. The SAA and allied forces around Sukhana are more than capable to move forward, they also have the right flank covered by the forces in the proximity of T2.
You want these three pincers to encircle as much ISIS teritory, cross the Euphrates then systematically eliminate ISIS pockets that are encircled.
Grab as much territory possible, crossing Euphrates would provide Syrian armor with open spaces to maneuver and neutralize the Kurds and hapless FSA.
You are fully right. The TF should go for DE City alongside Euphrate River with the needed supply in gear lines. The Palmyra front is strong enough to take Souknah.
This is a flanking move to encircle and detour towards Deir Ez zoir to kill 2 birds with one stone . The Desert Hawks ,Quds are pushing ISIS into pockets and will force them out of the area since they won’t want to be cut off .
The trek along the Euphrates looks long and difficult. SDF even took part of the pipeline road just north of Rasafa (near where the SU 22 was shot down). A good supply route must exist for such an operation. Talk is Tigers will go directly south towards Souknah supported by 124th Repulican Guard Brigade. This is also a long road, but will cut off all Daesh lines of communication to the west.
