A brief overview of the recent developments in Syria:
- On January 2, artillery of Turkish-backed forces shelled positions of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the Shahba dam area;
- On January 2, five people were killed due to explosion of a VBIED in Raas al-Ain town;
- On January 3, Russia reported that Idlib militants violated the ceasefire regime in Greater Idlib 17 times: 7 – in Idlib province, 6 – in Latakia province, 1 – in Hama province, 3 – in Aleppo province;
- On January 3, a Turkish army convoy containing several military vehicles entered Syria’s Idlib via the Kafr Lusin crossing;
- On January 2, two SDF members were killed in an attack by unknown gunmen near the town of Markada.
