- On January 20-21, Israel carried out a massive strike on alleged Iranian targets in Syria;
- Kurdish rebels attacked Turkish-backed militants in the villages of Sherawa and Khalta in the Afrin region killing 6 persons and injuring 2 others;
- Syrian security forces prevented a terrorist attack in the capital of Damascus;
- Russian airstrikes hit Hayat Tahrir al-Sham targets in the villages of Khan al-Sabil and al-Janudiyah in southern Idlib.
