- On July 30, while the political parties were waiting for the parliament session to start the new political process, Muqtada Sadr, the leader of the Iraqi Sadr movement, called for a demonstration. Supporters of the Sadr movement gathered in the Baghdad’s Green Zone and occupied the parliament building.
