The mountains north of Palmyra should be taken soon.ISIS fighters are there and they will try to storm Palmyra in the coming months if nothing happens on this front. And important is going to Suknah. The ISIS operational center is there. If they lose it the goverment will control central Syria
Is SAA going to do that? You should tell the people you are in contact with that!
Unfortunately they dont agree with me.The mountains north of Palmyra are not priority for now
Every nook and corner to safeguard requires man power. Driving ISIS away from there I think is not a big problem but setting up a post and manning it must be really a very big issue for manpower starved SAA. Hence they just need to focus on Deir-ezzor and leave the mountains near Palmyra for ISIS to guard. Yes but they need to keep a very vigilant electronic surveillance of ISIS movements there so that they are not caught napping like before.
It would be useful if the Russians could send another 2-3 military police battalions for the sole purpose of grounding the re-conquered territory. That was the precise reason they have sent to first two battalions. The Russians have recognized the SAA inability to hold the ground of territories recaptured from the islamists, so they stepped up with one battalion of Chechens and one battalion of Dagestani. But they need more to quard the rear and the north of the Palymira environs. I wholeheartedly agree that there is not point in moving towards Arak and then Palymira unless the whole territory to the north is cleansed.
My opinion, Road 45 has to be captured before the future advance to the east.
Otherwise problems could arise.
Oh well I hope they’re right. Do u know what their priority is now?
Where is Suknah?
After Arak
Arak will be taken in a few hours and then forward march the M20 in direction to Deir Ezzor in the next few weeks followed by medical specialists, supply units and security and safety forces.
They should take the mountains north of palmyra there are isis fighters there that might try to retake it, and al suknah should be taken too
