A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:

  • Nasir Ghairat, a member of the provincial council of Logar province, was killed by unknown gunmen in Kabul city;
  • A policeman was killed and another was wounded in an IED explosion in Lashkargah city;
  • The Taliban attacked a convoy of the Afghan National Police on the Kabul-Parwan highway. A police officer was killed;
  • The Taliban announced that its forces had attackes several checkpoints of government forces in the Sayyad district, Sar-e Pol province. 9 government personnel were reportedly killed or wounded.
