  •  The UN mission in Afghanistan reported that 1,366 civilians were killed and 2,446 were injured in the first half of 2019. The UNAMA attributed 1,397 civilian casualties (717 deaths and 680 injured) to pro-government forces;
  • At least 34 people, including women and children, were killed in a roadside bomb blast in the Shawiz area at the Herat-Kandahar highway;
  • The Taliban attacked a government fores checkpoint in the Pashtun Kot district, Faryab province. It claimed that 8 government troops were killed and 11 others were injured.

I see Jammu and Kashmir are only a few hundred miles east of Kabul. The U.S. should conduct an anti-terrorist invasion and decades-long counter-insurgency operation in Kashmir after we secure our victory in Afghanistan. Hey – we’re running out of quagmires here!
