A brief overview of the recent developments in Afghanistan:
- President Ashraf Ghani issued a statement saying that “Afghanistan’s territory will not be used against any other nation in the region.” The statement came amid the growing tensions between the US and Iran;
- The Taliban claimed that 3 US service members were killed and another was injured in an attack on the Kunduz Airbase near Kunduz city. The claim remains unconfirmed;
- The Taliban shelled positions of government forces in the Gultipa district of Kunduz province. According to the group, 7 enemy soldiers were killed and 11 more were wounded.
