Military Situation In Afghanistan On April 16, 2019 (Map Update)

• The Taliban claimed that over 171 pro-government fighters had been killed and 79 others had been injured since the start of the spring offensive 3 days ago;
• According to the Taliban media wing, the group conducts active military operations in the provinces of Kunduz, Badakhshan, Baghlan, Takhar, Paktia, Helmand and Badghis;
• A Taliban infiltrator reportedly killed 3 pro-government fighters on a check point in the Gerishk district;
• A girls school was “destroyed” in an attack by unknown gunmen in the village of Tosak, near the Farah provincial capital, overnight on April 15.
