Military Situatiion In Northern Part Of Aleppo Province On January 27, 2017 (Map Update)

The Syrian army and the National Defense Forces (NDF) have liberated from ISIS the village of Madiuna and the hill of Mashrifah southwest of the ISIS-stronghold of al-Bab in the province of Aleppo.

Government forces are now further developing momentum south of Al-Bab.

Meanwhile, Turkish militant groups, backed by the Turkish Armed Forces, retook Amiyah, Qabr Maqri and Seflaniye from ISIS.

On January 26, the Turkish Air Force and the Russian Aerospace Forces have delivered joint airstrikes against ISIS terrorists near al-Bab (TASS):

“On January 26, 2017, the Russian Aerospace Force and the Turkish Air Forces conducted one more air operation to incapacitate the Islamic State grouping in the area of Al-Bab, Aleppo Governorate,” a spokesperson for the ministry said.

“The operations was authorized by the Syrian government,” he said. “Russia committed Sukhoi-24M frontline bombers and Sukhoi-35S fighter jets, while Turkey committed F-16 and F-16 multirole fighters.”

The strikes destroyed three command points and communications centers, as well as several fortified strongpoints of the militants.
