Members Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) have reportedly started withdrawing from the village of Maghr Al-Meer to the town of Beit Jinn in southern Syria. The militants allegedly made this decision following a series of setbacks in the ongoing battle against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).
If this is confirmed, the SAA will likely establish control over Maghr Al-Meer in the next few days. This will be a major blow to the HTS defense in the Beit Jinn pocket.
Meanwhile, reports also appeared that HTS is ready to negotiate a withdrawal agreement to Idlib with the Syrian government. However, this is still not confirmed also.
According to local sources, the SAA is now preparing for an advance on Maghr Al-Meer. If government troops took control over the village without significant resistance, the aforementioned reports are likely true.
Think it is time to stop war in Syria. Actually Assad just need to say…ok…eat dirt. No need to waste more lives to free so small pockets. Just let them be, in nobody gets in , nobody gets out…in a year or two…think they will change their mind. If not, just build big wall around

Lol you’re delusional. Assad is fighting to retake land that rightfully belongs to Syria and that has been stolen by takfiri terrorists with the support of the US-Israel-SA.

Actually, that’s what he’s been doing for years. That’s why there are so many pockets. Those were places where the locals, with or without Jihadi militants added for additional flavor, put up a strong resistance, so Assad decided to starve them out instead. Considering that the pockets are still there and have to be taken one at a time, it seems obvious that the whole starving out plan did not work out as planned. Probably because the local SAA and NDF commanders were more busy lining their pockets then maintaining the siege.
On the plus side, after several years of siege some of those pockets appear ripe for the picking, and in this case the SAA discovered a weakness and decided to exploit it.
What’s the difference between a terrorist and a militant?
Of all the pockets to clear, this is an odd choice to focus on. My guess is this pocket Is simply low hanging fruit that is lightly defended.
