On December 11, two “ballistic missiles”, allegedly launched by the Houthis (Ansar Allah), struck the al-Himah refugee camp in the central Yemeni province of Ma’rib.

Yemeni sources claimed that the camp was targeted with “ballistic missiles”. However, photos from the attack scene shows the remains of an unguided Grad 122 mm rocket. According to the sources, six children and a woman were wounded as a result of the attack.

This was the second such attack this week. On December 9, several “ballistic missiles” landed near the al-Himah camp. Back then, the Houthis were also held responsible for the attack.

On December 10, the al-Arabiya TV released footage allegedly showing Houthi fighters launching rockets at the al-Himah camp. The channel claimed that the footage was obtained from the phone of a dead Houthi fighter.

It’s worth noting that the attacks on the al-Himah camp took place after the Houthis resumed their advance towards Ma’rib city. On December 8, the group’s fighters captured the Bulq al-Sharqi mountain which overlooks the southern outskirts of the city.

The Houthis are still advancing in Ma’rib. On December 10, the group’s air defenses shot down a US-made Boeing Insitu ScanEagle drone over the district of Sirwah.

This was the third ScanEagle drone to be shot down by the Houthis over Ma’rib in December. The first one was shot down on December 4, while the second was downed on December 7.

Between December 10 and 11, Saudi-led coalition warplanes carried out 36 airstrikes on Houthi forces in Ma’rib. According to the coalition, the airstrikes killed more than 190 fighters of the Houthis and destroyed 20 vehicles, including a drone control system.

Despite the Saudi-led coalition heavy pressure, the Houthis will not likely halt their advance towards Ma’rib city any time soon.
