This map provides a general look at the military situation in Yemen. The Saudi-led coalition continues its attempts to pressure the Houthis in western and northern parts of the country. The main areas where the clashes are ongoing are the countrysides of Hudaydah and Midi as well as a part of the Yemeni-Saudi border in nortwestern Yemen.
Over the past few months, the Houthis have not attempted to kick off any kind of large-scale miltiary operations against the Saudi-led coalition and its proxies. However, they have successfully repelled attacks on Hudaydah and continued carrying out missile attacks, cross-border attacks and raids against coalition forces across Yemen and even in southern Saudi Arabia.
The title of the article has some typos. Let me provide the title with the typos corrected:
Map Update: Houthis kicking the Coalition’s butt in Western and Northern Yemen and lets face it, everywhere else.
There, that reads much better…
and is closer to the truth. I often wonder if the houthis had some support where they be now.
This is certainly possible. I think the Houthis were most helped by the Coalition itself – gross incompetence of an arrogant leadership that created problems of desertion and insubordination. The result is the Coalition forces tend to flee leaving behind their equipment rather than fight the Houthis. I also hypothesized the Saudi regular army hate MbS and do not want to fight for him. Add to this UAE and Saudi goals in Yemen conflict. Basically the Coalition is a fiction at this point and the current state of affairs favours the Houthis as the coalition has shifted to the defensive which has been ineffective in stopping the Houthis from taking the war into KSA. This war will end and soon.
By the way, I was asked to submit for publication an analysis of the Russian/Israeli relationship. I am busy working on the paper and hope to finish by this coming Wednesday. The tentative title is: Fatal Attraction: the Rise and Fall of the Russian/Israeli ‘Special’ Relationship
I would like to also see it so please forward it after is published if you want.
Will do so.
