According to pro-government sources, the Syrian Arab army (SAA), the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Hezbollah, assisted by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Russia’s Aerospace Forces, have taken control over the Ratka oil field, Suwayyah, al-Hiri, Huwayjat Baghuz and started storming the ISIS-held city of al-Bukamal at the Syrian-Iraqi border.

Syrian forces are reportedly assisted by the Iraqi Popular Moblization Units (PMU). Members of the PMU’s Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba were filmed alongside Syrian forces.

ISIS are done, what resistance there is will be broken quickly, then get that highway open & secured!

Step by step, the US head-chopping, heart-eating rapers are being forced out of Syria and Iraq. Idlib next as the Kurds are left to wither on the vine?

Mohammad Bin Hossain

I think we are getting ahead of ourselves here….. we all know that ISIS started off as an insurgency outfit and then became a de facto nation by virtue of undefended Syrian territory and nervous collapse of 2 fully manned, fully equiped Iraqi Infantry Division….. as we have seen, ISIS has been a potent force in insurgency back in 2013-14 in Fallujah-Ramadi sector…… now, I do not see why the ISIS leadership will not embrace their old battle techniques….. plus, a lot of ISIS fighters managed to escape Syrian-Russian-Iranian large encircling sweeps….. I feel this is a deliberate withdrawal of the ISIS combat units so that they can have sufficient foot to carry out a devastating insurgency….. and remember…. the Anti-ISIS do not have sufficient infantry to wage counter-insurgency….. the Hizbullah reserves have been heavily depleted and the newly formed Shia formation haven’t proven itself in sustained combat…..

Turbofan

Wow..where do I begin…

1) ” we all know that ISIS started off as an insurgency outfit and then became a de facto state”

No..the insurgency were the remnants of Saddam army.ISIS isn’t that insurgency..ISIS is a western proxy army of bloodthirsty criminals paid by western intel to give them a reason to invade countries and change legal governments.

2) “spectacular collapse of 2 fully manned, fully equiped Iraqi Infantry Division”

No.The Iraqi army got orders from somewhere (most likely from the Americans) to flee and leave their equipment behind so that ISIS could have them. The general who obeyed and carried out these orders was sentenced to death last week. Many realized what was going on back then, hence the creation of the PMU.

3) “I feel this is a deliberate withdrawal of the ISIS combat units so that they can have sufficient foot to carry out a devastating insurgency.”

No..ISIS is defeated.Obliterated in Deir Zor, and Medeyeen. their defensive lines bombed to oblivion by Russian bombers throughout last week.Their supply lines are cut off both in Iraq and Syria. They arent deliberately withdrawing, they have been crippled.

4) “Hizbullah rank have been heavily depleted ”

Bollocks..Hezbollah isnt depleted in Syria..it got stronger

Ronald

Thanks for straightening him out . He might work for the Saudis/US , # 3 , “a devastating insurgency” is just the excuse the Americans are using as a reason for their continued presence .

Lord Humongous

Here is the thing guys. ISIS would not be in its shattered condition if it were not for Russian Aerospace Forces. Period. Nor would the Kurds be in their current situation without American airpower, certainly they could never have taken Raqqa without it. So what does that mean? What that means is, the Syrian Arab Army, Kurdish coalition and to a lesser degree the Iraqi Army, do not have the military wherewithal by themselves to defeat a resurgent ISIS. And ISIS will come back, as sure as the sun will come up tomorrow.
