The YPG-linked Afrin Liberation Forces claimed that their cells in Afrin had carried out several attacks on Turkish proxies and personnel in the Afrin region:
- On January 17, Kurdish fighters reportedly injured 5 Ahrar al-Sham members and 2 Turkish service members in Jinderes;
- On January 15, Kurdish rebels reportedly killed one Turkish-backed fighter and injured 3 others when they attacked their vehicle in Mahmoudiya;
- On January 15, 3 Turkish-backed militants were injured in an attack on their vehicle in Sherawa;
- On January 16, a member of Jabha al-Shamiya was reportedly killed by a sniper fire in Shera.
