Minutes ago in the east Homs countryside, the Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” – backed by Hezbollah, the Desert Hawks, and the Syrian Marines – imposed full control over Tal SyriaTel after a violent battle with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) that began this morning.
Tal SyriaTel is an important hilltop that is located near the Palmyra Castle (Qal’at Tadmur); it is also on of the highest points near the ancient city’s western flank.
