Unit cost, $40 million!

The US would pay a billion for it, with 960 million going to the pockets of the senators, congressmen and their flunkys.

Lone Ranger

Indeed.
Its hard to believe its that cheap.
Albeit its weapons system is a bit weak and for its size its rather light but still, its a steal.

And they are “flying off the shelves” :D
Indonesia has bought 5, Philippines 2, and even Peru bought 2 !

Not really a war ship but a disaster relief ship.. Doubt it will survive very long in a real war.. But to get to an area quick and support the logistics this is a great cheap functional ship..

Jens Holm

Buy one and try to sell it for 500:)

Peter Moy

This class of ship seems like a real bargain. As far as it’s planned armament, it may seem light but can always be easily supplemented by installing pedestals for light automatic weapons or MANPADS. A ship for less than the price of that disastrous flop of a bird F-35 is always an accomplishment.
