Carrier strike group (CSG) is an operational formation of the United States Navy. It is centered on an aircraft carrier and a carrier air wing of 65 to 70 aircrafts. It’s composed of roughly 7,500 personnel, an aircraft carrier, at least one cruiser, a destroyer squadron of at least two destroyers and/or frigates. A carrier strike group also, on occasion, includes submarines, attached logistics ships and a supply ship. Carrier strike groups comprise a principal element of U.S. power projection over the world’s oceans

the movement of (cvn-72) hauling f-35c-s seems to validate the houthi claim of striking the carrier with missles although damage was denied by the navy . this could mark the obsolescence of carriers use against the houthis or anyone else with modern weapons.

i would bet it’s possible russia may now be contemplating the possible transferring of their most sophisticated supersonic land based antiship missiles and trained crews to hizbollah, houthies and iran to keep us aircraft carriers away from the eastern mediterranean persian gulf, and the arabian sea for when iran conducts their true promise 3 retaliatory strikes on israel and their thud batteries and radars.
