Libyan National Army Reportedly Cuts Off Road Between Aziziyah And Tripoli (Map)

Units of the Libyan National Army (LNA) have cut off the road between the town of Aziziyah and Tripoli, according to pro-LNA sources. The town of Aziziyah is among key defense positions of forces loyal to the Government of National Accord (GNA), which controls the country’s capital, Tripoli.

Clashes of various intensity have been ongoing in the area almost since the very start of the LNA advance on Tripoli. If the LNA appears to be able to surround and capture this area, GNA forces will lost an important point of their defense south of the capital.
