On the night of September 8, Russian forces conducted combined strikes on military targets in seven regions of Ukraine. The attacks followed the expiration of a 72-hour pause declared during a visit to Kyiv by U.S. special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. Ukraine’s Air Force reported that Russian forces employed 32 Kh-101 cruise missiles, Iskander-M ballistic missiles, Oniks anti-ship cruise missiles, and 166 strike UAVs.
According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, the massive strike targeted facilities of Ukraine’s military-industrial complex, as well as logistics and storage centers.

Targets in Other Regions

In Kharkiv Region, launch positions for Ukrainian long-range UAVs were destroyed near Kharkiv.

Rail infrastructure was struck in Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Facilities were also damaged in Poltava, Chernihiv, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions.
Following the resumption of strikes after the three-day pause, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Kyiv was ready to seek compromises with Russia on strikes against energy infrastructure and on grain exports, calling these issues “painful for the entire world.” He emphasized that the current situation requires reciprocal steps from Moscow: “We cannot expect compromises only from Ukraine. Ukraine has already agreed to a great deal. Further movement toward agreements requires reciprocal steps from Moscow,” Zelensky said.
