Five Turkish service members were injured in the northeastern Syrian governroate of al-Hasakah on October 24 in a series of attacks by Kurdish forces, the Turkish Ministry of National Defence announced.
In an official statement, the ministry said that the soldiers were wounded as a result of drone, mortar and light weapon attacks committed by fighters of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and the People Protection Units (YPG).
“The required response was given within the framework of self-defense. Turkish Armed Forces continues its reconnaissance-surveillance and mine/HME clearance activities in the Operation Peace Spring area,” the statement reads.
Earlier, militants of the Turkish-backed National Syrian Army (NSA) launched an attack on several villages held by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in northern al-Hasakah. The militants even attacked positions of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the region.
Despite these repeated attacks, the Turkish Ministry of National Defence denied any reports of ceasefire violations from its side.
A ceasefire was imposed in northeastern Syria earlier this week following Turkish agreements with Russia and the U.S. However, tension appears to be once again growing in the region.
Were they not to leave and STFU and see what happens ?.
You asked for this, so you have it. This can easily turn into Erdogan’s Yemen.
I remember some idiot here (Dutch national i think) telling everyone Kurds would make Afrin Erdogans Vietnam.
Now its Erdogans Yemen – only in your dreams.
Stop talking bs, be specific.
Turkey uses terrorists against the Kurds.
terrorist against terrorists nothing wrong with that
Quite a lot wrong with that if you happen to be an innocent bystander who lives there. You might want to consult the opinions of the three nurses they found mutilated and executed about that one.
