Kurdish-Arab Tensions Grow Within US-backed SDF. YPG Arrests Liwaa Suqour al-Raqqa Members - Reports

Liwaa Suqour al-Raqqa members

The Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), that are a core of the US-backed  Syrian Democratic Forces, have arrested a number of members of Liwaa Suqour al-Raqqa, one of the few Arab factions within the SDF, according to pro-opposition media outlets.

The YPG has reportedly arrested 15 Liwaa Suqour al-Raqqa members, including the group’s field commander Fayyad al-Ghanim, and seized their weapons.

The incident allegedly took place in Al-Ghanim neighborhood in Raqqah city on Saturday evening.

Thereported reason of the tensions between the YPG and Liwaa Suqour al-Raqqa is alleged coordination of Fayyad al-Ghanim with the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).

If reports are confirmed, this will once again show that Kurdish militias remain the only real military power within the SDF and contribute all possible efforts to consolidate political and military influence in the SDF-held areas.

UPDATE: Fresh reports have appeared claiming Ibrahim al-Banawi (from Liwa Jund al-Haramain) and Fayyad al-Ghanim have defected to the SAA.

no surprise….

dutchnational

What a load of BS. The fact that some, a few, arabs proved to be traitors to the SDF, to whom they have pledged, by secretely communicating with SAA, does only prove there are a few traitors, not of tensions between arabs and kurds in general. Beyond the sectarian tone of this article, there are many arab and or mixed forces part of the SDF in Raqqah. The MMC, JAT, Sanaadid forces, Elite forces, the new DeZ MC, and the many arab men and women too that joined the YPG and YPJ directly as individuals. In fact, while there have been many large scale defections of arab units from SAA and FSA towards SDF, there have hardly been any defections towards FSA and or SAA, other then a few commanders with at times a few dozen fighters at most.

Turbofan

A hard pill to swallow isn’t it? You fail to realize that “Kurdish territory” in Syria isnt as clearly defined as in Iraq or even Turkey for that matter. The so called SDF is a time bomb..

Lumen

I cant see what you are referring to when you state >>>”You fail to realize that “Kurdish territory” in Syria isnt as clearly defined as in Iraq or even Turkey for that matter.”<<< – as dutchnational doesnt even mention the term "kurdish territory" in his post. for me it seems its a hard pill to swallow to realize that some information on this site is just BS.

Turbofan

” information on this site is just BS”..However you are still here.Sound to me you are miserable in your own shoes. An obsession with a website you claim to only churn out BS..That must be an undiscovered psychological disorder..

Just a bit of information..That so called dutchnational is convinced that the territory presently controlled by the SDF is “Kurdish Territory”..He has suggested that here on multiple occasions

Solomon Krupacek

i put here, because the other your post was already deleted:

which words supported? probably you have problems with understanding of
written text. he is not isis fan, only anti saa. and you should lern the
coexistebce with different opinions

Turbofan

Actually I dont..You probably struggle with understanding peoples subtle intentions but there is no ambiguity in what dutchnational wrote there…
And NO i dont have to coexist with the opinion of terrorist sympathizers

dutchnational

Correct. The only problem with most of the pill induced mentally deficient Assadophiles is that though they can read, they cannot, or rather will not, understand anyone who does not agree with them.

So, to recap : I am pro SDF, anti islamists of all kinds (whether IS, HTS, AAS or whatever), anti family dictatorships like the Assads, pro democracy.

I am anti SAA in its function of defending a dictatorship. I respect SAA where it acts as a guarantor of an independent and democratic Syria and the rights of its peoples

I loath namecalling idiots like my anally oriented friend justin who would be better served visiting sites that are more in line with his fixation.

Jens Holm

Its You manipulavetive misguided scum which use the word “Kurdish territory”.

Its agains all written down plans and wishes. The power in fx a federacy is divided and decentralized so all get more influence then they ever has had in Syria by the dentralized Damaskus.

The sekularism unite people instead of digging trenches.

You are right about its a correction and compensation for the borders made by French and britts.

It could be like that. Ottoman local border in 1856 make kind of sense: https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/575d2195b455a2ed927a1bb7eb8e2c878ce4e70e7412416c35b1cce4974f2f6d.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/8188c793cb3e85f5e73cb8ad5e0c9c483c05c0f0050fa2dd3c7cf2f6dfc7e878.jpg

Turbofan

“misguided scum”..I know ISIS and supporters of ISIS to be scum and I am not..read dutchnationals comment below and you will see who supports ISIS.

By the way throwing ancient maps around doesn’t change facts on the ground..

dutchnational

I do not swallow pills. Leave that to the mentally retarded Assadophiles

YuiYui

Hopefully, SAA will attack SDF right after it deals with ISIS and give the US proxies there their just deserts.

Lumen

yea hopefully. it would mean end of SAA. US would drop some bombs on SAA and thats it.

Lumen

The SDF did glorious efforts to stop ISIS so acknowledge it.

Turbofan

Interesting that the “stopping of IS” only commenced when Russia intervened directly in Syria..

Solomon Krupacek

this is not true. the first 15 months they practically did not fight with isis. while kurds and fsa yes. these two have right in that way, that saa can defeat the rest of isis, because in aleppo and raqqa did it turks, americans, kurds, arabs. remeber last year tabqa fiasco.

Turbofan

The west “bombed” Is for over a year and they kept getting stronger. The tides only turned when Russia intervened. Russia has been bombing IS from day 1. Rmember these oil convoys the Russians bombed in the early days..How on earth did the US miss that?

dutchnational

You are right. The stopping of IS by SAA started only after the Russian intervention. Before that, SAA either did nothing or just tried to defend a few places against IS, mostly failing miserably.

Turbofan

Very naive..By the way Turkey will gladly do that job..not SAA

Solomon Krupacek

tiurky will not do anythimg. some shellings, some puffs, thats all. they will not go against nato.

Turbofan

they bought the S400

Jens Holm

Yeeerh, and after some more years od war on kurdish women are the last fighter in Syria and becomes the president for the peacefull 8-10 mio. refugees.

You should be in the first line in that figting. People need peace and not more war.

Justin
dutchnational

Yes, SAA wil give US proxies the desert they deserve. All of Syria north of the Euphrates as a federal state WITHIN Syria.

Jens Holm

I agree. Arabs are a very mixted group. Mainly its more like they put their compas closer to SDF and kurds.

Of course schoolreforms leaving sharia as well as Assads will make problems. Reforms are like that. Sunni says things has to stay, where they are – and often they have only learned to obey any local or regime dictator if they are paid and have a gun against their head.

Wahid Algiers

That seems to be a fake news. Fayyad al-Ghanim defected to the SAA and is not in prison. Look here: https://www.almasdarnews.com/article/breaking-two-top-us-backed-sdf-commanders-defect-syrian-army-photo/

gustavo

Kurds have made a big mistake on becoming a USA puppets. Kurds must get rid of USA influence as soon as possible and have talks with Syria government.

Jens Holm

bork

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Blyat bork!

Jacek Wolski

Suka blyat bork! ?

Valery Grigoryev

What does the ‘bork’ mean?

Jacek Wolski

Irreversibly damaged ?

Jens Holm

Hard to see how much is correct or fake. To me it look more then a Turkish campaign of the evil kind as usual. I hope it is. SDF & Co dont need more internal confrontations then there already are in a lower level.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

These are as fake as they get , Manbij has thrown it’s lot with the Syrian Govt expect other regions to do so in the future. The Syrian Arabs and Syrian Kurds want these foreign Kurds out of their country along with the US/coalition.

Serious

Why an Arab will fight for SDF ????
All arab lands taken by SDF should be taken by SAA.

Make all Arabs inside SDF lands rise against kurdish dicdatorship.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

They will but the US/Israel is having any dissenters arrested and cooperating with the minority group YPG/PKK/PYD , the PKK lead the the Asayish being helped by the Israelis , this group represents 15% of all Kurds in the region. Foreign volunteer groups 2 years ago started dealing with Turk-Kurds only after the YPG were asked to turn over all their positions to the Turko-Kurds.

Justin
Turbofan

I will…

Solomon Krupacek

OK, and you shuld finish to spam this nice forum.

Me however, I troll the trolls! Im very supportive of the SAA and Russia and very much against USA and Israel!

Just a guy who likes to argue because he has nothing better to do!
In time, you’ll discover this for yourself!

have a nice day and don’t forget….

Perhaps you should post something positive on this site.
As opposed to personal attacks and foul language.

How to establish a kurdish state for dummies:

1. Fight on false pretenses against foreign mercenaries (ISIS)
2. Drive the native arab population out from their homes, if the natives refuse just kill them and claim that they supported ISIS.
3. Change the names of ethnically cleansed towns into kurdish ones.
4. Start conflicts with all neighboring countries, while licking the smegma of Benjamin Netanyahus cock (very important step)
5. Flee from neighboring countries and seek Asylum in Europe. Thereafter start committing honor killings of your daughters in Europe, you know because the Turks/Iranians/syrians are so awfully mean.
6. Profit duh…

BL

You forgot the main ones

– Make up completely false history claiming “Kurdistan” is a historical nation eventhough no such entity has ever existed.
– Attempt to steal history by claiming the ancient Iranian civilization of Media was “Kurdish” eventhough the Median civilization spanned the entire Iranian Plateau and the Kurdish language didn’t even exist back then.
– Completely ignore the thousands of years of history of Kurds being an integrated part of the Iranian civilization.
– Completely ignore the fact that Kurds are not a nation but merely an Iranian tribe who speak an Iranian language, celebrate Iranian holidays, are ethnically Iranian by race, and have an Iranian flag (Iraqi Kurdistan)
– Completely ignore the fact that the word “Kurdistan” is a Persian word meaning “The Province of Kurds”.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Another one you forgot was assimilate and suborn all other minorities and call them Kurds even though they have very little in common.

Serious

Thta’s why I said that syrian arabs should have never fight for SDF. I have said that they will become second citizen under kurdish doctatorship.

Thta’s exactly what happen. You do something that SDF doesn’t like and they will kill you.

Jens Holm

It might be 2 days ago, and You dont have to give any answer.

But I see it as the Ain ISA Counsil runs Raqqa and its military as well as civile Counsil about it.

Therefore some groups cant come and take over what they want or wish in an anarcistic way. If You join, You follow the rules.

The rules are there will be elections after Raqqa is taken, so at least the civile parts of Raqqa are governed by the majority of the people living there. After that it will still be protected mainly guarding against Assads until other things in this next faze is decided (or attacked by Assads).

To me a kind of peace also should make many of those soldiers should be building constructors and hopefully some refugees will come home if there are roofs and food for them.

Its not a conflict kurds angains arabs, but a rebuild for everybody not runned by another civile internal war or arabs taking over and destroy the future of theirs runned by soldier minds.
