In the Sumy region, Russian forces advanced 400 meters and repelled counterattacks by Ukrainian special forces in Sopych. They also destroyed the 50th Brigade’s artillery crews in Yamne. In the Kharkiv area, assault groups advanced 400 meters in Vovchanski Khutory and struck the 157th and 159th brigades’ positions, as well as the 127th brigade’s concentrations north of Izbitske. In the Zaporizhzhia region, Russian troops are fighting for control of Verkhnia Tersa and are attempting to encircle Vozdvizhevka from the Rozhdestvenske area. They are also repelling Ukrainian units’ attempts to advance into the Dnipropetrovsk region. In the Kostiantynivka area, positional battles are ongoing near the city. Russian aviation and drones are targeting Ukrainian force positions, and the situation in Chasiv Yar remains complex. In the Dobropillia area, Russian troops have increased their presence in Hryshyne and are putting pressure on Novooleksandrivka and Bilytske. Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski offered to mediate the conflict between Hungary and Ukraine over the Druzhba pipeline.

Sumy Direction

In the Sumy region, Russian units’ assault groups continue offensive operations. Russian aviation forces and strike drone operators attacked Ukrainian unit personnel and equipment concentrations in the Hlukhiv, Kiyanytsia, Ivolzhanske, Myropillia, Konotop, and Khotyn areas.

Russian assault groups advanced on seven sections in the Sumy district and on two sections in the Hlukhiv district. The total advance over the day amounted to up to 400 meters. Fierce fighting continues in the village of Sopych. The previous day, Russian units repelled a counterattack and advanced up to 100 meters within the settlement.

Ukrainian forces attempted a breakthrough with three assault groups from the 48th Separate Special Purpose Detachment, supported by an M113 armored personnel carrier. As a result of intense fire, the assault groups and their equipment were destroyed.

In the Yamne area, Ukrainian commanders transferred units from the 50th Artillery Brigade, formed last year, from rear areas to the front line. Russian units systematically engaged in fire, destroying a significant portion of the artillery pieces and personnel, as confirmed by obituaries in Ukrainian media.

In the Krasnopillia district, composite assault groups from the 53rd Separate Reconnaissance Battalion and the 119th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade attempted a counterattack. Most of the Ukrainian servicemen were killed in the firefight; the remainder withdrew deeper into the territory.

Kharkiv Direction

In the Kharkiv region, Russian assault groups are advancing with stubborn fighting. Russian aviation forces struck Ukrainian unit personnel and equipment concentrations in the areas of Vesele, Ternova, Rubizhne, Mytrofanivka, Nesterne, and near the villages of Bilyi Kolodiaz and Zemlianky.

In the Vovchansk area, Russian assault groups advanced up to 400 meters along five fronts near Vovchanski Khutory. Rocket units supported the assault troops’ actions by striking strong points of the 157th Separate Mechanized Brigade along the perimeter of Vovchanski Khutory. Reconnaissance revealed the exact location of combat groups of Ukrainian units in the Karaichne area, which were destroyed by army aviation.

In the Lyptsi area, units of the Radiological, Chemical, and Biological Defense used heavy flamethrowers to attack a concentration of Ukrainian troops from the 127th Separate Tank Mechanized Brigade in a forested area north of Izbitske.

No significant changes occurred in the Velykyi Burluk direction. Army aviation attacked a concentration of Ukrainian troops from the 3rd Separate Tank Brigade in the Kolodezne area.

Zaporizhzhia Direction

In the Zaporizhzhia area, Ukrainian forces continue to attack Russian troops in an attempt to push them out of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Nevertheless, Russian forces continue to advance in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Footage has appeared online of a Lancet drone striking an armored personnel carrier in Otradne. Ukrainian forces passed through this settlement during the initial offensive in early February, after which Russian assault troops operated there. Due to the specifics of the footage, it is not yet possible to confirm its timeliness or the transfer of control over Otradne.

Ukrainian units are attempting to infiltrate the northern sector on a broad front, from Andriivka to Velykomikhailivka. Some armored vehicles reached the border of the Dnipropetrovsk region, but they were destroyed.

In the western sector, beyond the Haichur River, Russian units continue to advance on the Tsvitkove–Horke line and have begun fighting for the outskirts of Verkhnia Tersa. Vozdvizhevka is being bypassed from the direction of Rozhdestvenske. There are reports of Russian assault troops attacking Liubitske and Lisne. If these attacks are successful, Vozdvizhevka will find itself semi-encircled, which would facilitate further Russian advances.

The situation remains complex in this area. The Ukrainian side has committed significant resources to not only contain the Russian offensive after the liberation of Huliaipole, but also to launch large-scale attacks in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Neither scenario has been fully realized. In the north, small groups of attackers are scattered across tree lines, and in the west, the Russian offensive continues.

Kostiantynivka Direction

In the direction of Kostiantynivka, Russian units are continuing to fight on the approaches to the city and are engaging the part of it controlled by Ukrainian units with aviation and drones. The Ukrainian forces continued control over the heights in the Krasne area and in the west of Chasiv Yar remains an obstacle to the assault on the city. These positions must be captured before the offensive on Kostiantynivka intensifies, especially since Russian troops already control the southern approaches.

The situation at the Dobropillia-Kostiantynivka junction remains unchanged — ultra-small groups conduct combat operations under conditions of high drone activity. A potential breakthrough toward Raiske could further complicate the supply of Ukrainian units in Druzhkivka and Kostiantynivka. However, due to advances in drone technology, the “ground” approach to supply routes is less important than it was even a year ago.

Dobropillia Direction

In the direction of Dobropillia, Russian units are steadily increasing their presence in the Hryshyne area by moving infantry in small groups through tree lines and built-up areas. Assault groups are attempting to establish a foothold in the northwestern part of the settlement. Given the current intensity of the fighting, it is possible that Russian forces will take control of Hryshyne in the near future.

After stabilizing the front line, the next stage could be increased pressure toward Dobropillia. This would effectively create conditions for reaching the Dobropillia node, an important logistical and defensive center in this sector. Controlling this area could significantly impact the stability of Ukrainian units’ defenses and supply line configurations.

Russian units are constantly firing on Novooleksandrivka. Meanwhile, combat operations continue in the area of the mine west of Rodynske, as well as around Bilytske, where the contact line remains mobile.

Conclusion

In the Sumy region, Russian troops are advancing steadily, fending off counterattacks by Ukrainian special forces and destroying artillery reserves. In the Kharkiv area, assault groups are expanding their control zones around Vovchanski Khutory, attacking Ukrainian force strongholds and reserves. In the Zaporizhzhia area, Russian troops are developing their offensive and enveloping Vozdvizhevka, despite Ukrainian units’ active attempts to break through into the Dnipropetrovsk region. Battles are underway for Verkhnia Tersa. In the Kostiantynivka area, a positional struggle continues amid high drone activity. Russian units are engaging Ukrainian force positions with aviation and preparing for further action. In the Dobropillia area, Russian troops are increasing their presence in Hryshyne, putting pressure on Novooleksandrivka and Bilytske and creating conditions to reach Dobropillia.

An important event in the international political context was a statement by Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski. While in Brussels, he offered to mediate the conflict surrounding the Druzhba pipeline between Hungary and Ukraine. Sikorski noted that Hungary accuses Ukraine of halting transit for political reasons, while Ukraine has its own demands. He emphasized the need to either negotiate with Kyiv or seek alternative oil supplies, which Croatia and the European Union have offered Hungary for some time.

Sikorski’s statement reflects an attempt to find a compromise in the energy conflict, which has already led to Hungary blocking the EU loan for Ukraine and the 20th sanctions package. Traditionally supporting Ukraine, Poland is acting as a mediator in this case, which may indicate Brussels’ desire to defuse tensions between Kyiv and Budapest. However, the parties remain rigid in their positions: Hungary demands the resumption of Russian oil transit, while Ukraine points to pipeline damage. Amidst Russia’s successful offensive in multiple directions, internal conflicts within the EU weaken Ukraine’s position and hinder its ability to receive financial and military aid. Sikorski’s mediation offer could be the first step toward resolving the situation, but its implementation will require concessions from both sides, which neither is ready to make yet.
