Amid the recent successes in the Kharkiv region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are pulling up additional forces, preparing for offensive operations on all front lines in the eastern and southern regions of the country.

Another large-scale Ukrainian offensive is expected in the Zaporozhye region. So far, the front line remains unchanged. A significant escalation is reported in the Ugledar area, where Ukrainian troops are pulling reserves to the village of Vasilevka and are attempting to attack Nikolskoe.

Ukrainian artillery has recently been activated in the Dokuchaevsky region. This may also be a preparation for an upcoming offensive on the DPR position.

The DPR and Russian forces deployed in the Donetsk area may also came under large-scale attack. The Ukrainian military continues to pull forces into the areas of Maryinka and Peski.

Fierce fighting continues in Maryinka. Neither side has been able to declare full control of the settlement for several months. Peski is under the control of the DPR, from where they continue their offensive in the western direction. To the northeast of the village, Ukrainian units recently left their positions west of the Donetsk airport runway. Fighting continues between the airport and the ring road.

Despite the difficult situation on other front lines, Russian-led forces continue to break through the enemy’s defenses in the Bakhmut region. Servicemen of the Wagner group are very active in the area.

During the offensive from Kodema, the assault groups took control of Nikolaevka and Nikolaevka 2. They continue to move towards Otradovka and storm Zaitsevo from several directions.

Allied forces also advanced in Soledar. Russian assault units occupied a section of the highway between Bakhmutsky and Pokrovsky. Meanwhile, DPR units took control of another district in the north of the city. The front line now runs along Kosmonavtov Street.

There have been no significant changes on the northern Donbass front lines.

Fighting continues north of Svyatogorsk, the city is in a gray zone.

Ukrainian assault units attempt to attack Liman, so far unsuccessfully.

Some advance of Ukrainian forces near the village of Belogorovka was reported. Neither side has full control over the village. Ukrainian groups are advancing into the forest southwest of Kremennaya, where fighting continues.

In the Kharkiv region, Ukrainian forces have reached the state border. The front line was stabilized along the Oskol River. Fighting continues in the city of Kupyansk. The Russian army is strengthening its defense, Ukrainian forces continue reconnaissance by combat and are trying to force the Oskol river.

Positional battles continue in the south of Ukraine. In the Kherson region Ukrainian forces attempted to attack in the area of Davydov Brod, but were stopped by Russian units. The Ukrainian command is also pulling reserves in the region. New offensive attempts are expected.

All we here about is the “allies” and Wagner group. Where is the regular Russian army? Does it even exist?

It’s southfront’s way to cover the up the failure of the military.

maharaja

Wont allow reply to Vanya, there is also a few other things to consider with the Russian army. Contrary to western garbage media … Russia does not allow conscripted soldiers to serve outside state borders. the regular army has around 280k combat troops…. thats it. They have turned away many who have tried to rejoin the army and serve in the SMO. Read up on topwar.ru or some other Russian sites. Pretty clear they are not pushing for more bodies at any point in the past 7 months, this time, who knows?

Perhaps the retreat and gut punch might change that but I thought that many times in the past and nothing. Fighting in Belgorod now in a small town over border is reported, shelling etc, I thought this would push Russia to act as well. Will see. VKS did use aircraft in the past 48 hours and I am not talking pitch up rockets into the forest for cameras. Thats rare to see.

Vanya

I’m totally disgusted by all of this. I can’t believe how the Kremlin is abandoning these people once again. No effort is being made to win this war at all.

hiero

Concur -it’s sad to hear that nazis now offer the teachers from re-occupied Charkov area for Azov and similar POWs in Russian custody, not to mention random turkey
shootings by laughing winners Ukies of any civilians remaining in that area, Hey
Russian Allies you forgot Bucha? If you perform “tactical withdraw”, you don’t
leave a live chicken in that area, except plenty of mines and remotely controlled
IEDs and loitering ammo. Understand none of that occurred. What is Shojgu
doing with the new “Vlasovs” if anything? Oh, Lavrov & Peskov talking about
“negotiating” w. US? Are you really that stupid? Well 10k Chechens are coming
would be better if 100k would come under the Kadyrov’s banners – and how if
Vlado names Kadyrov supreme Field Marshall. And Mr. Pushilin, how about
inviting 100k North Korean shock troops ea. bringing that one bullet Allies
apparently(according CIA) bought from N.K. – and give them a proper machinery!
Why nobody builds Charkov-Odessa barrier, the fly shouldn’t get through east.
Alas how many western milit. equipment and military troops marooned on rail by no
electricity got blown up to the hell by precise… etc. didn’t hear any? 5-6 soldiers
here and there – even platoon exercises are larger? Something “wroten in the State
of …?

Nobodyinparticular

They might fire guided rockets upwards, probably it gives a better initial trajectory – earlier Western suggestions they are firing wildly could be wrong – some of the comments on a recent video posted by Defence Politics Asia showing a barge being hit suggested this as does the footage itself with the TV screens. Surely an unguided missile wouldn’t hit the target from such a range, even the reservoir is not in view when firing?

Viktor

That is the real problem. IMO at this point mobilization is necessarily but it wont solve all problems; it will actually create additional problems. First, it costs a lot; USSR for example never had more than 100k troops in Afghanistan. Russian economy survived and even recovered against all odds but it’s still fragile. Mobilization won’t help a bit. Ukros have unlimited western credits, they’ll be in debt for the next 1000 years but Zelensky&co don’t really care.

Second, even more problematic, reservists have been neglected since the breakup of USSR, and even more for the last 10 years or so. For some reason Russian leadership decided to transform Russian military into some sort of NATO-style small professional army (Gerasimov doctrine etc). It didn’t quite work as we can see. It was a bad idea, a big strategic mistake. It would be much better for Russia to adopt Israeli model where the most of population can be easily mobilized. Lack of quality NCOs is another problem. Creating new units take time and just adding badly trained conscripted civilians into existing one will demoralize the army even more. Not to mention population morale when these civilians start dying.

Yet again, there is no other option. No one can fight a war without soldiers. Longer they wait, the worse situation will be. I hope it’s not already too late. Ukro morale is all-time high, they are full of confidence and they have significant numerical advantage. Very difficult month ahead for Russians, but if they manage to hold their positions till mid October then the war will slow down till spring 2023. But even so Ukros will be even better equipped and trained next spring.

its comprised of chechens, wagner, DPR/LPR militia because it is a special military operation.

Buford T. Justice

It’s war, war on Russia , Vlad doesn’t want to admit it .

yea a lot of wagner and dpr militia. Russian army is at excercises in Vostock , 3000 km away , trying to impress china and india with well prepared exercises :)

The consequence of this failed military operation is huge. It’s catastrophic. Those who have brains should understand it.

after the last few days and the comments from russian pages and channels, it starting to become obvious a trend that is ment to enrage russians, make them hate the west, also to doubt their leadership. I see only 2 possible reasons for this campaing : either to escalate things, throw in huge reserves, level everything, step up the campaing and start mobilisation, people will ok this as they hate the west and NATO . The second reason could be to prepare a coup in Kremlin, change Putin and who knows what next.

maharaja

A coup on Putin? Have not heard this before! No wait its a weekly thing except from the BBC who after reporting the coup forty seven times actually went with Putin died and their is a doppelganger in in his seat! So they stopped with the nonsense fantasy of coup a long time ago.

Vanya

A coup would be a blessing. The problem is Putin hand picked all the Generals for their “yes men” qualities.

Putin Sleeps

Westerners are wholly indifferent to how Russians feel about them. I think the angrier and the more frustrated Russians are, the better. For example, Finland’s PM Sanna Marin recently said she wants sanctions to hurt ordinary Russian citizens. If the Russians are to be demoralized, and if Russia can be defeated and humiliated, the west will see the hybrid in Ukraine as a great success.

Inexplicable.

In England they are even bragging about how they helped the Ukies to reclaim most of the Charkov region. This has to stop. No more humiliation of Russia can be allowed! Time to destroy the enemies completely is now here. Russia controls the skies and now have to exterminate the all the enemy troops on the ground. It doesn’t matter that they are brethren, for they, the Ukies, no longer realize this. Too many years have now passed by since the good old days of the USSR and the brainwashing of the people of the Ukraine has now been going on for far too long. A major reset needs to take place. Clean away the that which is rotten and beyond repair, and then rebuild with the good seeds, which needs to be replanted all over the land. Only then can the area of Ukraine and Novorussia be healed and returned in full bloom to the eternal Motherland, Russia…

Void

should have been done eight years ago. seems like, as long as slav’s die the war is good.

Hjalmar

I agree with you, Void. To tell you the truth I was so disappointed that the people of Donbass were left out in the cold by Putin. The Ukraine was ripe for the taking back then, but like all unfinished businesses, they tend to come back and hit you with vengence when you least expect it. He should have finished this back in 2014. No doubt about that.

jojo

The pro-Russian bloggers continually made excuses for Putin not helping Donbass over those 8 years. They continued to argue it was the best thing to do. Yet when Putin sent in Russia for the SMO, he noted that he should have done it 8 years earlier. By waiting 8 years it allowed Ukrainian forces to get much stronger and fortified in the area and to remove or turn many of the pro-Russian people there. The SMO is showing to be too little too late and that’s why it’s unraveling.

Russia doesn’t control the skies due to Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense. Someone on Southfront pointed out early in the war that Russia not flying its bombers over Ukraine territory is a sign Russians didn’t have air dominance.

maharaja

You are a retard. Running around calling yourself an academy? escaped from special education academy. Chess my ass, its not 1343 dumb fuck. Ever seen a pawn jump twenty spaces and drop a grenade through the window of a car with a bishop in it? What on a chess board mimics space recon? Ya not really asking… ever seen a chess master? not really the type that barks orders at chechens…..

None of that matters because you are an idiot and it does not apply at all…. but what I would really like to know is how you consider Putin or any General a traitor? Shoigu? High treason? Are you a Russian? If so big boy why are you not in the fight? What kind of coward Russian sits at home and bitches about its military when they are to big a pussy to fight? Ya you can answer that one…. tell us hero, when and where did you serve and fight in the smo? How many towns did you hold ?

Vanya

Putin and Shoigu are both traitors, they are ones who came up with the inexplicable strategies and tactics, they are the ones who squandered the wealth of Russia on window dressing and worse while failing to prepare the military to defend Russian National interests.

Carlos Marques

What Russia did to Kharkov civilians (6 month occupationand then a humiliating retreat) is treason against the ethnic russian and pro-russian in that area, specially to the ones not evacuated in time and nowbeing tortured/assassinated by SBU/Azov.

The political decision to keep a limited SMO is wrong. The SMO strategy failed. Russia now loses terrain instead of conquering. The few soldiers available for SMO can barely defend their current positions.
When those 9k soldiers from the Kharkov counter-offensive are re-deployed in the other fronts, will Russia also make a “planned retreat”, like the shameless MoD said about the Kharkov humiliation?

If Russia does not declare war, while Crimea and Belgorod are shelled, that’s a huge sign of weakness.
If Russia does not increase the weapons and men in this military intervention, that’s a sign of stupidity from Putin+Shoigu.

So far, Ukraine is much, much more militarized.
It’s not Russia liberating DonetskPR, but Ukraine ready to re-take territory in LuganskPR.
NATO is there in the front lines. Russias “precision strikes” failed to stop a FULL ARMY of men and equipment from gathering near Balakleya.
Now Russia needs to bomb dams in order to temporarily slow down the Kherson counter-offensive.
And next come the offensives in Zaporoje oblast, that Russia doesn’t know if it will be able to stop.
And that’s the true reason why the referendums did not take place in September-11.

Be men. Recognize the mistakes. Deal with the factual defeats. And fix what needs to be fixed. Only then SMO 2.0 (aka war) can be successfull in achieving the defeat of NATO, deMilitarization of Ukraine, deNazification of Banderistan, and international recognition of the human right to Selfdetermination of the people of Crimea, Donbass, and maybe some more territories of Novorussia.

If this doesn’t happen, is that either because Russian leadership is afraid of escalating the conflict, or because it can’t?
How many fighters died in Ukraine?
How much heavy equipment was destroyed?
Can Russia replace it? Or why are we seeing more and more propaganda videos of military columns of vehicles where most of them are just common pick-up trucks painted in military green?
Why has the SMO failed for 2 months (since the liberation of Lisichansk) to even break through the 1st Ukrainian line of defense in Seversk-Bakhmut?
How is it possible Ukraine crossed the Siversky Donets to capture a few locations and is trying to capture Lyman?
Why is there still shelling in Donetsk from Avdiivka?
Why were HIMARS not destroyed yet? Their introduction coincide with SMO stalling. Is it just coincidence?
When we start asking the questions, the probable answers don’t look good for Russia…

From an anti-NATO guy from Portugal.

padre

You must be an West Point graduate, since you have such an enormous military knowledge!

Carlos Marques

People who are afraid of questions and can only do attacks ad hominem, never go far in life.

I’m anti-fascist, anti-nazi, so that means I don’t have an USA “education”. And I’m anti-Nato, so that means I have a civilian education, not one in a Western military school that creates war criminals and human rights violaters, like West Point.

I recognize Crimea’s referendum and understand why Russia had to intervene to save the LDPR, so that means I’m immune to Western propaganda.

I pay attention to Ukraine since 2014 bloody far right coup backed by USA’s criminal regime. So that means I know Ukraine’s dictatorship needs to be deNazified.

I read OSCE reports showing Ukraine was the one violating Minsk peace agreements and re-starting the 8-year war against Donbass people, by mass shelling them since ate least February-16.

I understamd Zelensky’s threat of invading Crimea, that he made in Munich Conference in February-19, was a justified casus belli for Russia.

But none of that means I will ever be a fanatic follower of Putin, or that I forgive Shoigu’s obvious mistakes.

I hope peace is achieved as soon as possible. But facts on the ground show thay SMO failed, or at least stalled. A radical change in strategy and means is necessary in order to stop the evil coalition of Nazi+Nato.

Or do you think just getting not much more than Peski and Kodema in 2 months, while losing the entire Kharkov region (almost 9000 square kilometers) in a few days, is a good sign?

As someone very rightly said: a limited SMO would have been enough in 2014. But Russia wasn’t ready back then, and a limited SMO is no longer enough in 2022.
If it was enough, by now, before Winter comes, we’d be seeing the encirclement of Slaviansk and Kramatorsk, not the retreat from Izium.

Buford T. Justice

This is Putin , if the generals had their way you can bet that things would be much different. Ukraine , the US and NATO are fighting a war , Putin’s acting like mother Teresa. Pity the militias and the ethnic Russians.

Vanya

At least Putin gets to think of himself as a humanitarian that seems to be the only thing that matters to him, what a disgusting individual he turned out to be.

M from Romania

useless russians … incredible. I can understand why soldiers do not want to fight, what is the point? to strugle 6 months to take 10 villages that you then lose in 3 days ? So now what? if nothing changes, no serious reinforcements arrive, it will be the same, if they manage to stabilise the front. Again 6 months to retake 10 villages lost in 3 days…

IMHO

Russia will lose because they are too chickenshit to attack their real enemy. The U.S. and NATO will send endless weapons until Russia is defeated.

There is no way Ukraine could mount any counter offensive without help. This would have been over now if not for help from NATO.

SO IF YOU ARE TOO CHICKENSHIT TO FIGHT YOUR ENEMY THEN YOU DESERVE WHAT THE FAGGOTS HAVE IN STORE FOR YOU.

Actually if you were even close to correct Russia would not have invaded Ukraine. Russia clearly stated it would not stand by and watch as Ukraine joined NATO…. when they sent their demands to NATO and had them thrown in their face they invaded Ukraine….. its the opposite of what you suggest here.

A chicken shit would have made up a reason to stay at home and say they were not being heard correctly. There are plenty of things not to like about the SMO but making things up is not required. Russia does not have the military power to go all out in a war with forty five nations which have a military budget of about 570 billion a year (NATO) along with the US in NATO and its 700 billion. Russia spends about 60 billion a year. to a combined 1.3 trillion… Chicken shit or just a realist?

“The U.S. and NATO will send endless weapons until Russia is defeated.”

The Russian silence is defeaning. Russia should atleast make clear to the Americans that they can not feel safe while killing Russians and threatening the Russian state.

A secret message to the Jewish leaders in the world is also required. Zelensky is seen as a Jewish leader and as such gets support from the international Jewish community in particular America. An answer should be found as to why Antony Blinken and some Jews are against Russia and Armenia.

in 4 days, they have taken 3,000 km2 and possibly it will be 5,000 km2 or a little more. My calculations are that they have employed between 30,000 men, with a reserve that they approximated, and that has been hit.

Why in those conditions the offensive has had such a big cost militarily in the Ukrainian ranks? Because the Russians let them come,

that accumulation of forces is not done without being noticed, there are means, they have limited artillery, and the Russians placed themselves in positions in which they – the Ukrainians -, are not going to pass.

How much is the Ukrainian advance? 3,000, 5,000 or 6,000 km2, 5% of the Russian-controlled land in Ukraine.

What does this advance mean? A different military dynamic is Ukrainian troops that will have to move to defensive positions.

Why this advance? It is a demand of those who support Ukraine, both the USA and Europe, they want and believe, that Ukraine negotiates imposing its terms, and for that, it must do it quickly.

The question is not so much what Russia will do, they will do what they have to do in a timely manner, you have seen them, they don’t even bat an eyelid. The question is what will those people do now, they are forced to stay, and they have suffered casualties like they never suffered before. If their Chief says

“…It is very hard for us, but we are moving forward…” – Zaluzhny about the current offensive (Chief of the Ukrainian Army), it must be for a reason. What is really surprising and what makes the Ukrainians in Kyiv suspicious are the minimal Russian casualties.

I think they are going to study what is going on because at the same time they are selling the idea that in the south they are still gaining tens of kilometers every day, and that is false.

Russia does not start wars, it ends them. Today, is Russia closer to Kyiv, or Ukraine to Moscow? If you have the answer, then we have an understanding.
